MY 7/4 WEDDING REVIEW! SO LONG!

I can't believe it's already over and now it's my turn to review. I was engaged so long and everything went so fast. It was a beautiful sunny day and it was wonderful. Can't thank you all enough for all of your help on the board!

Dress (Ebay) - A: Paloma Blanca gown that I bought off of ebay and saved a ton of money.

Seamstress - C: Someone in San Diego, sort of a nightmare, but I bought a size 10 & am a 2 (7 fittings, but in the end it fit) No one could figure out how to bustle it the wedding day (even the bridal attendant did it wrong). Halfway through the reception my husband stepped on it for the 10th time and it wripped the bustle and the crystal button fell off, so it wasn’t fixable quickly.

BM Jewelry - A+: Once again off of ebay from seller [email protected] I saw the jewelry at my friend’s wedding and she told me wear to get it. It was so beautiful and very inexpensive I was shocked. My BM Loved it!
I also got them silver heart engraved compacts, a swarvorski crystal picture frame, Barnes & Noble gift card, crystal candle holders and I think that is it.

BM Dresses - A: Netbride.com – they were really good and emailed me back when I wrote them with questions. The dresses arrived almost 2 months earlier than the date they gave me. The Watters & Watters dresses were a little big for everyone, but they just got them altered. My BM saved over $100 each for ordering through them.

Shoes: DSW Got a great pair of white open toed shoes for cheap! Also bought flip flops for dancing since my feet were hurting after 6 hours.

MOB Gown – A+: My mom got her dress at Estelles and it was beautiful and very inexpensive.

Hair & Makeup – A-: Hot Heads in Oakdale. My first hair trial was a big disappointment. My second hair trial (the day before the wedding) was great. The day of everyone was happy with their hair. It was pretty inexpensive as well.

Tuxes – A-: Mens Wearhouse – Our groomsmen are spread out all over the country and with the $50 deal, it couldn’t be beat. The tuxes even came with new socks for them to keep. The only problem was that when paying for them, they mixed up the names so some people’s tuxes were mixed up.

Limo: Aquarius Limos – A. They had the best price and had great service. They were on Ocean Ave. in Bohemia. I had to do a four hour minimum but it was still cheap. We did a pick up after the reception too. They upgraded us from an 8 passenger to a 12 passenger. The limo was beautiful! Not sure if we have any pictures though. The driver didn’t really talk to us much, which is fine and was a little helpful, not overly helpful.

Hotel Blocked Rooms – B+: Wyndham Wind Watch – My guests thought it was expensive, but with the discount it was significantly cheaper than the other hotels. We did have some problems as guests were calling to reserve and the hotel was telling them that the block was sold out, which was not the case. So I had to call for everyone this happened to to make sure that they got the block rate.

Wedding Night Hotel – A: Wyndham Wind Watch. It was nice, they put us on the executive level and sent champagne to the room.

Officiant - D: Father Robert Allman, DELETED DUE to recent events.

Rehearsal Dinner – A-: Polinis, it was a 4 course meal for $18/person, the food was delicious. Good atmosphere, we had our own room that fit about 50 people. We had 40 people. I’m giving them an A- b/c they called and asked if they could put a party of 10 in the room with us. It was our rehearsal dinner!!! We had booked a year ago. The room was small enough and they wanted to put 10 strangers in there with us????

Photographer - A: Steve from Patken, he was so nice and fun. I felt very comfortable working with him. I get my proofs on Monday, so I’ll know more then.

DJ & MC – A++++++ Invitation to Dance with the MC Rick. I cannot say enough about how great Rick was. Everyone just loved him, including Kevin and I. We loved him right from when we first booked him. It would take him a couple of days to return my calls, but it was b/c ITD was a part-time gig for him. He was so wonderful and made our wedding! So many things happened and he handled every situation perfectly! He was so funny and entertaining! He really does a great job! We got their smallest package which included a DJ and MC. They had a great price too! The MC surprised Kevin with the Notre Dame fight song by having Kevin stand on one end of the dance floor and walk across during the song before he got to me to get the garter. It was funny and Kevin was so Happy!

Invitations - A: Princessweddings.com was great, they were so inexpensive than what the stores were selling and they came right away with no problems.

Harpist - A: Miriam Shilling – I shopped around a lot for this as most were so expensive, but then I found Miriam and she was so nice and charged a very reasonable price. From what I paid attention to, it sounded beautiful. Great Price too!

Florist - A: Flowers by Rosemarie, beautiful flowers and a great price. Something happened and she couldn’t decorate my cake for the wedding, so it didn’t come out very nice as the hall had to do it. That was my only disappointment.

Reception - A: Watermill: They do a fabulous job with weddings. My only complaint was the situation with the bill. They were charging us gratuity (18%) on top of the chapel fee which annoyed me. Also, they were not willing to do a thing for us since we were under count. Also they charged the 8.75% tax on top of the 18% gratuity. That adds up to a lot more money!

Maitre ‘d: Bob gets an A+. He was fabulous. When my husband ripped my dress he heard about it and found in the bridal suite within a minute so that he could help my mom fix the dress. He was on top of everything!!! He even made a bouquet for my grandma within 2 minutes for when we honored my grandparents marriage of 65 years.

Bridal Suite Attendant A: She was wonderful and always around, non-stop to get me anything I needed. My only complaint was that she said she knew how to bustle my dress and she did it wrong. My mom had to fix it.

Just FM me with any questions.

There is Men's Wearhouses all over the country. They have a coupon in all of the bridal magazines for the $49.99 deal. The ones on Long Island that I know of near my mom's house were Patchogue and Smithtown. They get everything, shoes, socks, vest, tie, jacket, pants and shirt. They also have a lot of styles to choose from. It was helpful for us since everyone lives all over the country. Also it is rent 4, get the 5th one free.

Congratulations!!!

Robert Allman was rude or his replacement? On the day of my wedding Father Bob didn't show up and sent a replacement but he did a great job. I was dissapointed with Father Bob because he didn't give us a call or anything that he wasn't coming. I was just thanking God before the ceremony that he actually sent a replacement to marry us.

Karen had no clue about the dress or the disappointement to the Fr. who married you. It was still a beautiful day!
