I’m back! Today is the last day of my honeymoon before I have to go back to work (but we’ve officially been back from California as of Wednesday). My wedding day was PERFECT… nothing went wrong, and the weather simply could not have been better! All those prayers everyone was saying for the past year and a half really paid off, because it was about 75 degrees and sunny, with NO humidity!! It really was just wonderful and my new husband and I enjoyed every minute of our day!! I only have some pictures from the table cameras to share now, but our families took tons of other pics, which I just have to scan, and then I will post them ASAP. Of course I’ll also post my proofs when I get them. So here’s my review!
Lidia’s Bridal Boutique: A++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++ When I was a kid I used to dream about getting married and trying on wedding gowns (who here didn’t?!) and everyone at Lidia’s Bridal made my dream come true! They touched my heart… such overwhelmingly sweet and accommodating people! No matter what happened, they handled it professionally and courteously. My dress looked spectacular, and my bridesmaids also looked beautiful. Ladies, if you are still dress shopping, you’ve got to pay them a visit! You won’t regret it!
Denise Venti: A++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++ Denise Venti did my hair for my wedding (she’s a vendor here), and I was so happy with her work! It came out exactly how I wanted, which was a little different than what she did at my trial, but she really understood what I wanted changed and created the perfect updo. She brought an assistant with her (Maria) who also did fabulous work. They both showed up at my hotel room at 5am sharp and were just so sweet to work with! My girls looked great!!! Everyone’s hair held up for the whole day. I highly recommend Denise and Maria to anyone and everyone!
Marie Katz: A++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++ Marie did our make-up, she’s also a vendor here… and WOW we all looked incredible! My make-up lasted through the whole day, and even through a few tears! She is such a sweetheart, and I am SO glad that I chose her… I know I couldn’t have picked a better make-up artist for me! Marie also showed up exactly on time and fully stocked, and the colors she chose for everyone worked perfect. Love her!
The Watermill: A+++++++++ Everyone at the Watermill really treated my wedding party and I like royalty! Our bridal attendant was so sweet, she kept the champagne coming, and was overall just a wonderful and accommodating person to have on hand. Our maitre’d was also very nice, as was our banquet captain. The place looked GORGEOUS! The flowers they had for the ceremony looked spectacular, and even though I missed my cocktail hour I hear it was also phenomenal. They brought platters of food into my bridal suite for everyone who was busy taking photos and couldn’t make the cocktail hour. The only minor complaint that I had was that there was another wedding after mine, and so they had to have the bridal suite I was using cleaned out before my reception was over. They didn’t tell me that until about half an hour before it happened, so I wasn’t about to leave my reception and pack up the suite… I had stuff all over the place in there. They did it for me, but I ended up misplacing a few (luckily insignificant) items because I didn’t have everything together. Of course if they had told me that earlier I would have made sure to keep everything packed up. That’s the only reason why I didn’t give them more A+'s. Otherwise everything else went off without a hitch!! Everyone is still talking about how amazing the day was… from the food (RAVE reviews!!!) to the service and the appearance, it was everything I had hoped for on my wedding day.
Rev. Janine Burns: A+++++++++++++ We love Rev. Janine!! She did a wonderful job performing our ceremony. She’s got an incredibly clear and strong speaking voice, and she organized our vows and readings perfectly. Such a lovely woman to work with, I’m so glad she married us!
Imagine Studios: A++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++ Lia and Nelson are some of the most professional people I have ever met, and they were OUTSTANDING! They actually showed up early, and got started right away. Everyone kept commenting about how nice they were, and how they were very respectful and not at ALL intrusive. You barely knew they were there! Lia was remarkable with the shots she took, and how creative her poses were. Both of them were exceedingly patient and incredibly talented! Granted I don’t have my proofs back yet, but I can already tell that they are going to blow me away. I have seen a lot of their work on LIW, and I am pretty sure that I will be nothing but happy with my results! Of course I highly recommend Imagine Studios!!!!
Flowers by Diana Ringrose of Petals of Seacliff: A++++++++++++++++++++++ I love Diana!! She is a personal friend of my sister’s, and therefore not a popular florist. But she works out of the Petals of Seacliff shop in Locust Valley. She exceeded my expectations! My bouquet looked so pretty, and she matched my Nana’s bouquet (that she carried on her own wedding day back in the 30’s) to a T! My MOH, bridesmaids, parents, DH and groomsmen also loved their flowers… everything truly looked spectacular! My favorite part of her work was my centerpieces… they perfectly suited the long oval shaped tables that we had. She set up a row of 5 small displays of flowers in mint julep cups to form the centerpieces… she dispersed votive candles around them as well. Because there were 5 on each table, everyone got to take flowers home! My cake flowers and our dais were also perfect… I can’t say enough good stuff about my florist!!
Body Rock DJ: A I had Mike and Joe from Body Rock… they were great. They played exactly what I had wanted and kept the music flowing really well, which is what they pride themselves on. Every song blended into the next one perfectly and I have no major complaints at all about them! The only very minor thing was that they played “I Will Survive”… and although I guess it’s my fault for not specifically putting it on my Do Not Play list, I think that is the most inappropriate song to play at a wedding. Aside from that, they played everything else I wanted, worked well with the CD I had to provide for them (a few songs I wanted aren’t popular and they didn’t have them) and were very nice people to work with! The ceremony and cocktail hour music was exactly what I asked for, and I definitely recommend them!
Royalty Limos: A++++++ We only needed one car, to pick us up from my mom’s house after the reception and take us to the city. We booked the Daimler Chrysler convertible, and it was REALLY cool!! We kept the top down the whole time and got honked at and waved to during the whole drive into the city…. Unfortunately we were stuck in nasty traffic, but we were so tired it didn’t make a difference. I don’t remember what our drivers name was, but he was a nice enough guy. Not very talkative, but got the job done!
