My 9/21 BOURNE MANSION WEDDING REVIEW
THE BEST DAY OF MY LIFE! I married the man of my dreams on the day of my dreams! Everything was perfect (weather was 75 and sunny!), we both had the best day of our lives!!!!!! Everyone is still talking about the wedding and saying it’s the best they have ever been to! We wanted to have a wonderful party for our friends and family to celebrate our marriage, it was exactly what happened. We are still glowing from it!! We have been so blessed. We were not nervous or stressed out during the planning process and everything worked out perfect. We were both just so excited to be married!! The only thing I would have changed is to have made the day go slower, it flew by! Thank you to all of you for your advice and suggestions, I was able to take a lot of good tips away for other brides to be!! Our church service was held at St. Rose of Lima in Massapequa, NY. Here are my reviews (and some photos):
Location: Bourne Mansion: A+++++++Hands down the best place in Long Island to have a reception! The Mansion is what the made the wedding SPECTACULAR! Everyone was blown away, they said it looked like something out of a movie set or fairytale! The different rooms are decorated so beautifully, we really didn’t have to add much, just some candles, family photos and 2 mantle flower arrangements. When everyone arrived and walked through the mansion to find out back that they were facing the sound, it was gorgeous!! You can’t beat the location!!!!! We had the wedding on a Sunday and guaranteed 200 guest to get the cost down, I would suggest you do the same thing if you see what an amazing place it is!
Everyone raved about the food at both the cocktail hour and the dinner, it was awesome! The matre’d and the staff were excellent, everyone loved the valet parking (we had a lot of people not from NY and not used to this treatment!) , multiple bars, tons of food, just having the whole place to ourselves!!! We rented 3 foot high candelabras for the centerpieces from our florist w/o flowers and it just added so much!! The Bourne Mansion is worth every cent,,,and more!!!!
Photographer: Photography by Verdi: A++++, you should see our photos they posted online, www.fotoverdi.com, if you go to recent weddings, it’s Erica and Charles DyReyes, they speak for themselves!! The best part is that we didn’t have to do many posed shots, mostly they just photographed us enjoying our day! They are on the pricier side, however, the one are we didn’t look for a discount was on the photographers, since this is how we’ll remember the day!! They are wonderful, would recommend in a heartbeat, worth every penny.
Videographer: Wild Rose Video: A+, Haven’t seen the final product, but the day of, they were professional, courteous and on time, I’m sure they did a fantastic job. They are inobtrusive, which is exactly what we were looking for!!
DJ: Music by Michael: A++++, the dance floor was packed the entire time and we got so many compliments from all age levels on the music selection. We had a hard time finding a DJ on LI that would let US choose the music,,,we wanted no rap/hip hop/ or techno dance music, we wanted played a lot of classics and oldies and it was so much fun and exactly what he played..he honored our requests!!! We had a lot of older guests and they had never heard a DJ play that didn’t play too much loud hip hop, Michael was a pleasure doing business with and he will let you control the music that is played!!! Highly Recommended!
Limo: Dynasty Limo: A+, All the cars were clean and nice and on time!! What more could we ask for!! We had one rolls Royce, one town car and the 24 pass. SUV limo!
Florist: *****************: A+, Everything was just as we had asked for, we didn’t have too many flowers, since we used the candelabras for centerpieces, but the bouquets and other flowers were beautiful! Best prices around!
My Dress: Vera Wang A++, most amazingly beautiful fabric, I just felt wonderful all day (I bought the dress as a sample gown and got a huge discount, I was not looking to spend over $2k..and I didn’t) I bought the dress at a bridal store near my house in south NJ.
Hair: Marlene-A+++++Awesome!! She came to the hotel and did all the girls hair, everyone loved her too!! Let me know if you need her phone number
Makeup: Jillian: A+++++Awesome, she did mine and mother's makeup, it was perfect, she is such a sweetie, highly recommend, let me know if you need her number!
Mensware: Mens Warehouse: A, Husband and all had pretty good results with their tuxes, everyone lived in different states and we could return them all to the Mens Warehouse on LI the next day!
Islandia Marriot (Exit 58 LIE): Used by us and our out of town guests, it worked out wonderfully! Great location, good group rate, service and nice rooms.
