My Aruba restaurant review

This is my last Aruba post! Here you go!

We made our reservations for 8:30 at most places because we wanted to spend most of the day at the beach and we knew some places are prettier at night. I’ll let you know which places you should go to for the sunset.

Our top 3:
Flying Fishbone- you’ll find the most unbelievable atmosphere here. Your table is on the beach right next to the water. You’ll dine in the sand and if you’re lucky you’ll get a table where your feet are in the water. It’s very expensive, but worth every penny. I loved the lobster! This is a long cab ride, so be prepared to pay! The crème brulee is delicious!

Papiamento- What a romantic atmosphere! The trees are covered in white lights and you sit around a pool. All the tables and chairs are covered in white and each table has a lantern and candles. It’s a peaceful atmosphere and if you tell them you’re making reservations for your honeymoon, they’ll have flowers on your table when you get there. If you have a honeymoon card, they’ll give you a free bottle of wine. Food is great- try the food served on a stone!

Madame Janett- If you like the classic sounds of Jim Croce, James Taylor, and Don McLean, you’ll love this place! It’s romantic and someone sings and plays the guitar every night. He is fantastic (if you enjoy that kind of music). He takes requests and I have to say he does the best version of And I Love You So by Don McLean. It’s very hot in the restaurant. Of course it’s mostly outdoors, but if they ask if you want indoors or outdoors, choose outdoors!

El Gaucho- You’ll hear a ton about this place when you’re there. We had reservations for 8:30, but they didn’t seat us until 9:15. If you like beef, you’ll like it. If you’re a vegetarian, I’d skip El Gaucho. Be prepared to have leftovers!

Italian restaurant at the lighthouse- The view is amazing. Definitely go around 6:30 so you can enjoy the sunset. I got the linguini with clams and it was terrible. Bret got the shrimp, asparagus, and proscuitto- it was great.

Le Petit Café- There are three of these on the island. I had lobster (again) served on a stone. It was unbelievable. You’ll get a free frozen drink if you have your honeymoon cafd.

The Pirates Nest- This restaurant is located at the Bucuti Resort. For $75, you and your husband eat under a hut in the sand. It’s private and romantic. The food was OK, nothing special. Although the food wasn’t the best, the service was excellent and they personalize the menu with your new last name (if you tell them you’re on your honeymoon when you make your reservation). This is probably my #4 pick. Go at 6:30 before the sunset.

The Waterfront- The food was decent, but not amazing. Our dinner was actually less than $100 this night though! It’s located downtown next to the tiger.

HAVE FUN EVERYONE!

Re: My Aruba restaurant review

i agree with el gauchos.
we fed our leftovers to the many stray dogs on the island (we threw them the steak from our jeep)
they dont chase you nor do you find them in well populated places, don't worry!

also like bride02 said-flying fishbone is an absolute must!

Re: My Aruba restaurant review

We were in Aruba a few years back and totally loved Papiamento. It was so pretty by the pool in a yard. I will not forget that dinner!
