I agree with you. Have you ever been to a wedding where you were like oh what is next in between? I have not -not even out of town.

Keep in mind that not everyone is coming to church . People may check in and get dressed in between if they need something to do.

You will have so much going on that day-you will not even want to deal with who is going where and what type of cookies are being served.

Just keep your head up and take it all with a grain of salt.

It is just so frustrating. I have been to plenty of weddings with a long break inbetween. I usually go home and get dressed or have my hair done, check into my hotel, or meet with out of town guests for a drink or something.

Some people just expect you to do everything.

It is so true-they want the world and expect it all. Trust me when I say that no matter what-you will get an idea from your guests if you need to do anything in addition. Just feel them out and play it by ear-

or ask your aunt is she is hosting

My ceremony is at 3 PM, my CH at 7 PM. They are a one hour drive apart. I am not (and will not) making arrangements for things to do in between. (although my ceremony hosts are providing champagne and canapes immediately following ceremony while I'm taking pics). I think I will get a small handful of invited guests to the ceremony (and maybe a handful of people that I couldn't afford to invite to the reception showing up), but most will just show up at the reception.

oh by the way-ceremony is at 4 and CH is not until 8pm

I just wanted to say that....I HATE MY AUNT TOO She is as crazy and as big a pain in the a$$ as your sounds like she is.

Trust me when I say that no one except your selfish aunt is even concerned about what you are 'providing' for their entertainment in between your ceremony and CH. Don't think about it for one more second. You are completely right in your thinking.

Good luck...IMHO I say ignore her, it isn't her wedding

Where does she get off thinking she has a say in your wedding? Next time tell her to hold her comments for HER daughter's wedding. Let her torture her own child!

It is nice to have extras but it is not a requirement for the couple or their families to entertain people for an entire weekend. Mom is still waivering on whether or not she will host a brunch the next day for out of town guests. I told her in no uncertain terms that she was elderly and on a fixed income and she was NOT obligated to host a weekend's worth of events. If people want to eat breakfast so badly, then give them the number of the closest pancake house and tell them to clam up!
