My baby has diarrhea

Help! My little four-month old has diarrhea, probably from a bug she caught in daycare . The doctor has recommended Isomil DF (the diarrhea formula), but she absolutely HATES it, and threw up from it. She normally takes the Similac Advanced with Iron, and I find that she is doing somewhat okay on the Similac Isomil (regular) for now, but she's not taking a lot of the bottle. She's taking about 2 ounces at a time when she normally takes about 4. I'm also giving her Pedialyte so she doesn't dehydrate, but I just hope I'm doing all I can do. Any suggestions? How long will this last?????? Help!

Awww I am so sorry to hear that, my little Mia was sick over the weekend with 102.5 fever , she had vomiting, diarrhea, and a cough that won't quit. It is heartbreaking and thank god I was home with her and her fever broke after only one day.

As far as her NOT eating, the same thing is happening with Mia...I just checked in with the sitter and she only had about an once of milk today (she get's expressed breastmilk) I'm glad I wake her to feed her in the morning. When they are feeling under the weather they loose their appetite, don't we all??????????
As long as she's wetting her diaper the doctor says there is nothing you can do for them except keep them hydrated and of course Mom's love and hugs and kisses. The virus has to pass and trust me it will. Hang in there!

I have the opposite problem with Gianna -- she's been constipated and I think it's because she started the rice cereal on Saturday! She finally pooped last night, first time since Christmas!!!

I feel so bad for all the babies when they get sick!!!

When Mia was a little baby (ha) I would say up until 3 to 3 1/2 months old, she used to go poops every 5 to 6 days!!! That's just how she went and everyone and every book said that breast fed babies go everyday..NOT

She finally poops everyday and I'm happy for that, she started cereal and now she's doing veggies (squash) since she's been sick she doesn't have an appeitiate for anything except Mommy's boobs

Camille, LOL with her poops!!! I joke around and tell Joe that Gianna takes after him in every aspect BUT the pooping!! Let me tell you, she farts and can clear a room!!! Ah, her daddy is so proud....
