My baby's name -
She was baby girl for a day and a half - b/c it was so sudden I hadn't really decided on a name -
but by day two my family was going crazy -
So we decieded on
OLIVIA CATHERINE
I had no choice but to have a C-section - someone asked me about my birth experience -
I had a spinal - which I was terrified of the thought of a needle going in my back - but I am being honest it didn't hurt (I am a true chicken with a very low tollerance for pain) so anyone who is going to get the Epi. don't be afraid of it - a spinal and epi. are about the same - the spinal just numbs you higher.
Well as far as the after pain - that's a different story. I was in pain for about a week. The first 2/3 days were somewhat bad. But nothing you can't handle - expecially with the pain killers.
I was in Mercy Hospital in RVC and I can't say enough good things about my experience there. The care was beyond compare - I was sad to go home - I know that sounds crazy but the nurses were so caring. It was a great hospital for learning how to breastfeed - my sister didn't get any help in her hospital - everyday they came in to ask me how the breastfeeding was doing and would help me if I needed it. I wasn't really sure I was going to do it - but after being in Mercy and hearing all the nurses talk about it - I had to do it - anyway I just stoped - I did it for two months - I'm back to work -
I have had some experience with baby's but it felt different with my own for some reason - I can't believe I did this - I buzzed the nurse to come in and watch me change a diaper - to make sure I was doing it right - (I've changed diapers for other baby's) I don't know maybe it was the drugs I was on - I look back on that and laugh - plus the first night when they asked me if I wanted the baby in my room - I was scared - I felt like I don't know how to take care of her -
Well if anyone else out there feels like that at first - you will see how quickly you become a pro - I'm now so relaxed with her - you would think I've had 5 kids - not nervous at all.
You all have nothing to worry about it wil be the best experience of your life and you will not remember the pain. If I didn't have to work I would have another one already - and I had a very scary experience. As I said my Ollie was in the ICU unit and I cried a lot and was very scared that she wouldn't be OK - and with all that I look back and just remember how I couldn't believe how much love you could feel. You really can't compare it to any other feeling.
It has truly been the best feeling in the world - I never new motherhood would feel so good -
