my bachelorette party ...

My sister/MOH got us a limo into the city and we are going to spice market at 10:30 (this is what I requested)... but we are looking for a place to go from 7 - 10, with out spending too much money (a show would be too much)... does anyone know of any cool bars we can go to?

TIA!

What about those pole dancing lessons. That would be a fun way to kill some time!

Culture Club is fun, it's $20 to get in before 11pm if you pre-register your bachelorette party, and the gets in free. But I don't know if they're open that early...

It depends on your crowd - beer drinkers? Martini's? Hole in the wall, or fancy?

I LOVE McSorley's - and as much as people call it a tourist trap, I was there on a recent Saturday afternoon and everyone in there was a native New Yorker. Good beer, great cheese and crackers.

Town Tavern and the Fat Black Pussycat lounge are right next to each other and are decent bars. As much as I always say I won't do it, I usually end up at TT at least once over the night.

If you like Margaritas go to Rio Grande, but try to stick to 1 or 2. Those things are LETHAL!!!

There's so many places, it may even be worth it just to drive past a few bars and see what interests you. That's usually how I find some of the best spots! On a Saturday from 7-10 you're not going to find anything too hopping, but you'll still have a good time.

Tao has a great lunge area.

Cafe Noir is fun and has a really interesting crowd.

There are a ton of bars on the Lower East side that have great music and crowds. Just about any bar on Avenue C between 10th and 1st streets are all great.

ETA: the upstairs bar at the Gansevoort Hotel can be a bit touristy but the crowd is fun and diverse.
