So, the lead singer of my band apparently had an accident and cannot perform at my wedding. I am so upset. I don't know what to do. They said that they hired someone else to fill in while he is gone. But, I feel like I booked the band with him as the lead. How do I know that this guy is good? And the music is so important at a wedding!!! Do I complain?? Should I withhold the final balance due until I hear them?!?! With only 11 days left...this is KILLING ME!! My mom said to not pay the balance and tell them if I am satisfied with there performance I will give it to them the night of the wedding. But, I don't want to upset them and have them do a bad job!!! TIA

Re: My Band...
Check your contract - there should be something in writing about them finding a replacement if something should happen to one of the performers - if it is in there you're SOL.
I wouldn't withhold anything from them for exactly the reason you stated.
Don't forget they have a reputation to uphold so I doubt you'll have a problem....
Cross your fingers and hope for the best.

Re: My Band...
I would ask to hear the new lead singer before the wedding. If you don't like him, hire someone else. I know it may cost some extra $, but music is sooooo important at a wedding.

I thought of that...but who do you even hire this close to the date?!?!?! Thanks for the hugs!

Re: My Band...
OMG, this is my worst fear with a band...luckily this isn't a 'peak' time of year for weddings so I would make them get together, sing a few songs (including your wedding song) and figure out if you like them...if not, look for back-up. You might get a great price because its last minute, so if they're not booked, they may just reduce the price already for you to book them (another band I mean).
I hope it all works out and I am sure that their replacement singer will be just as good!
