My Beautiful Ceremony Location

My Beautiful Ceremony Location

is no longer beautiful.
The flowers are dead instead of big beautiful fall blooms. The fish pond in the front of the house is in disarray and now looks like nothing but a huge gaping hole.

I have less than two weeks left, and now I have to scramble with a clean up crew and $$$$$$$ to whip the place into shape. Someone shoot me now!

It seems that they wanted to add a waterfall type thing to the Koi pond, so they drained it etc. Problem is the work isn't done, and will not be done before the wedding. So now instead of a Koi pond there is this huge gaping hole with cinder blocks etc in it. It looks like total sh@t.

I am going to have to spend $$$ to get the hole covered up or face total embarrasment that the first impression will be this huge hole in the ground.

And, the staircase I was supposed to use for the processional is apparantly no longer available (or perhaps never was and I was just being told it would be no problem). Either way it is now a problem. Saturday is my final fitting (at noon) and FH's b-party to AC (they're leaving at 4 PM [when I was going to find out it was 4 instead of 5 if this hadn't come up is beyond me ]). Somehow we have to get all this work done without interfering with the b-party.

Have you talk to them? I would not accept the situation. That's totally unacceptable. Did they tell you about the change of the grounds when you booked them? They should have disclose that. You cannot turn the ground like Sh$t after you accept bookings. It has to be maintained all year long.

Somehow I don't think I can tell my friends who are opening up their 18th century home for my ceremony (and serving champagne and hor 'douvers) that they have to fix the Koi pond by next week.

Oh sorry Darlene, I did not realize that's what you were doing. Yes, you can't 'expect' anything then. But why can't you use the stairs if it was OK before?

For the Koi pond, you could cover it or use potted plants (mums... for Falls). That could be very pretty.
