My best friend, who is due in December, was just admitted to the hospital b/c her aminioc (spelling) fluid is too low! She is now put on complete bed rest and will be sent home on Tuesday. Her husband will be traveling alot this week (he can't re-arrange work right now) and I will be helping her out by bringing her dinners. I would also like to get her something else to help pass the time. Any suggestions?

maybe a magazine or two. a small radio for her to listen to some music.. a journal if she feels like writing... a new pajama?

what about calilng a nail salon or seeing if someone can come and pamper her?? nails, feet, etc...she deserves it!! you are a great friend!

A craft. Maybe she would like a learn to knit kit or something like that. A new book. A gift certifcate to have her house cleaned- as that would drive me nuts to not know how that stuff would get done.

tons of magazines. and all varieties not just parenting ones.
some really good books: memoirs of a geisha was really good. so was The Red Tent.
Daily newspaper when you go visit.
Is she going to be in the hospital from now until December?
My mom had to do that when she was pregnant with my sister - she had pre-eclampsia (sp) but she gave birth with no problems

oh dear - how terrible!
I think getting somebody to clean the house is a GREAT idea. She's gonna get stressed out about that.....
The best thing though is just spending time with her I am sure! You're a good buddy!

tea (big comforter of mine) a lavender candle (to help relax) popcorn to go with the movies
Does she have a laptop? Maybe she could borrow one and log on here from bed for support!

Thanks ladies! Such great ideas! I think I'll make a basket consisting of many of the different suggested items. She doesn't know how long she'll have to be in bed. I will keep you posted and thank you for your good wishes! Lora
