My Best Friend's Anniversary!*with pics*

My cat Petey is my best bud. I got him from Valley Stream Cat rescue exactly one year ago today. I cant imagine my life without him...So i threw a party to celebrate!

awwwwwww they are so cute! happy 1 yr! we have almost the same anniversary! my 1 yr for dodger ( my dog who we rescued from a place in the city) was 2 days ago ..the 23rd! he was only 2 months old and sooo tiny.. now he is 90 plbs..lmao!!!!

Congrats to you!
Rescuing a pet has got to be one of the best feelings ever.
I fought for this kitty... someone else wanted him but he was a flake, and kept missing his pick up date. I called the people in charge of the rescue group every hour on the hour (during reasonable times) for 3 days and they finally gave him to me.
He's the best. He was a 'hard to place' animal because he had an attitude problem... or so they say. He's always been the sweetest mushiest cat I know.

We got our cat Bella (pics in album) from there as well... and Klinger was found in FH's backyard a few years ago with a tag on him from his neighbor...who runs the cat rescue.

If anyone is interested in adopting a cat... Valley Stream Cat rescue is the way to go.

i grew up with pedigree dogs from breeders.. so as soon as i could get my own pet i went to north shore and got a rotti mix puppy who was rescued from a kill shelter in tennessee.. she was in there because she was rescued from a fire!

anyways.. now shes about 120 pounds.. and i love her like no other.. it is such a great feeling knowing she's a rescue dog!

he's super self concious about it... no joke. it's like he knows the other cats' ears are differant than his. He acted so embarassed when he had to wear the cone collar it was hysterical but I felt awful at the same time.
Now whenever he seems upset i tell him i love his cute little floppy ear and i 'make fun' of the other cats for not being as adorable.
I think i have issues

i love that she's not as scared as she used to be.. it makes me feel good knowing she's happy now!

lololol.. I LOVE THAT!! that is so something i would do.. and i do believe he has issues with his ears...cats are like people that way. My girlfriends cat gets mad and will go after her leg everytime she is on the phone with her boyfreind or says she has a boyfriend... like he's jelous..lmao.. it's funny but it's a bit creepy too! but he's so cute it doesn't matter..lmao! my cat really doesn't care unless i'm busy..that's really the only time he wants my attention!

yea, people have said the same thing about our animals... they are all rescues... well, the hamster isnt. people think we're nuts because we take animals no one else wants.
But Petey was a hard to place b/c they said he was mean... we have no idea why he was catagorized that way... he lets me treat him like a stuffed animal... he's so sweet.

Bella... we got for free from the rescue b/c she was also a 'hard to place' cat. She's got issues, but she's definitely warming up to us. She comes on the couch with us now, and rubs us for attention.

It takes patience and a whole lot of love to rehabilitate rescue animals. But it's so worth it.

It makes me happy to know there are people like you out there lookin out for the 'under dogs'
