My Big Boys 6month Visit :)

We had our 6month well-visit today !

Well he's just an ounce under 17pounds. and 26inches.

He took the shots like a champ. Cried for a sec and then started babbling to the nurse.
He pulled the Dr's cartoon tie, made lots of cute noises and thats about it

All healthy, normal and growing

We're moving on to 'meats' - bought some Gerber Chicken today...YUMMMMM. special dinner tonite!

He said to start with the poultry. and he said to wait till 7-8m for Stage 2 Gerber, but the chicken is only made in stage 2 ? confusing !
but he said if i want to try sooner (stage 2) to feel free. yeah, right, im the paranoid mom (about choking) id have him on stage 1 till he's 18years old if they didnt tell me different

OMG - You want to talk about choking??!!?? I gave Emma Zwibeck (sp?) toast, she got a rather large piece of it off and tried to swallow it. It got caught in her throat. I had her turned upside down patting her back... when it was over I was shaking and near tears. THEN (not the same day, otherwise I would have a whole head of gray hair) I was showing her a leaf and she grabbed a piece of it and got it in her mouth somehow and started to choke on a piece of that... she was gagging and gasping for air, she eventually spit it up (along with some boobie milk) and was so stressed from the whole thing she fell asleep right in my arms. I CRIED and held her for about 2 hours while she slept.

Just so you know I havent seen any difference, besides the flavors, in #1 and #2... and yes I taste them all before she eats them.

Re: My Big Boys 6month Visit :)

I noticed that my nephew (10m) has Stage2 and they are just as watery as Stage 1 . Very similar consistency...

I had a similar experience with my niece choking on a cookie when she was about 18m. and since then I am scared to death to watch kids eat. I even pour a dab of water into the Stage 1 jars sometimes. I am totally paranoid and phobic..drives my sis and mom nuts because I yell at them when they feed my nieces ANYTHING bigger than their little throats. especially since one of my nieces barely chews...right to SWALLOWING and it scares the poop out of me... I really need help When i see my nephew eat Cheerios (and my sis doesnt break them-they are WHOLE) I have to look the other way...
That one bad experience has scared me sooooo much........

I know what you felt like...

OMG Anna, I'm the SAME way when it comes to watching kids chew!!!! My mom swore to me that it will be different when I'm a mommy!! That fear doesn't go away!?? Seriously, my nephew was eating a mozzerella stick once (when he was 5)and I thought I would die watching him gag on it!!! I couldn't finish my dinner I was so upset!!

It's really one of my biggest fears re: parenting!!

BTW, congrats on JA's excellent checkup!!

Sounds like a great visit, Can you believe how big they are getting?!?! Seemed like October was just here

I think Luke is a little longer and a little lighter than John Anthony at this moment but we'll find out in 2 weeks.

HAPPY HAPPY 1/2 YEAR BIRTHDAY JOHN ANTHONY!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
