my birdcage card'box'

So, yesterday I went to Target, and in the candle section, I found this birdcage that is meant to hold a big pillar candle, and it was $20. I figured it would be great to use as the card holder as an alternate to a card box, and then after the wedding I can use it as a candle holder. what do you think? I would of course decorate it with the wedding colors and our monogram. ThoughtS????

I really like it. I was thinking of doing a birdcage myself.

OMG, FH's aunt bought the same exact one with the gift card we gave them for Christmas!

I love it personally. I would just make very, very sure that it's secure.

what I will probably do it tie the ribbon in a way that only the top opens partially. And then I think I'm going to entrust one of my BM's to keep an eye on it throughout the night, and transfer some of what's in there into a more secure box. we'll see, i have to think about it a little more.

I LOVE it! We're having a 'lovebirds' theme wedding and doing a birdcage as well. It's cool because you can use it again later on.

exactly!!! that's why I didn't want to do an expensive cardbox.

I remember BeachBum05 saying that they placed the cardbox right next to the bride and groom's table.

And I'm thinking that I am going to have to type something up and frame it, put it next to the birdcage so that people know what to do with the cards. Not everyone will know where to put them, ya know. Just don't know what to write........................

It's very nice, but is it big enough? I was actually looking at some at homegoods last weekend and they had a really nice one but my dad was insisting it was too small. Just a thought.

I think its cute but just be careful to line it or something you dont want to envelopes to slip out of the bars.. or someone to slip their hands in, JMO

well i think i am going to entrust a BM with the responsibility of keeping an eye on it, and transferring some to an alternate box once it gets full.
