So I had posted that I found my dress like two months ago. The Maggie Soterro Ivandra. It's part of the new collection. Somebody was so kind and posted it for me because I'm a idiot lol. Well we never purcahsed it. We wanted to check one more store because we still had an appointment but after that store I knew 100% it was the one! My parents and sister and I had had the dress moment the first time I put it on which I was not expecting. So fast forward to Thursday when I thought I was going to be buying the dress. My parents, sister came again, and I also brought my FMIL and FHs aunt and two of my bridesmaids. Everybody loved it except my bridesmaids. They both said they loved the top of the dress but they didnt like the bottom. My one BM who has been my friend since I am 4 told me that the lace on the bottom looked cheap =( My other BM just didnt like the bottom, it's not her style or whatever. So she had me second guessing I dont want my dress to look cheap. It's 2000 how cheap could it look?? I know it's not a high end desinger but it's still really pretty and I love that it's different. So I wound up not getting the dress(but also the woman at bridal reflections in massapequa was rude and rushing us out bc they were closing even though we had to wait for her because when we got there she was still with somebody). I got in the car with my everybody except my BMs and just cried. Everybody said it doesnt look cheap and it's a beautiful dress and it looked so good on me. So I'm going back to RK bridal on Thursday where I originally tried it on and going back to the girl who found it for me. I only went to bridal reflections because I thought I was having the BM dresses from there and they do a deal or something if you purchase the dress. So I'm sorry for ranting but how could my BM say that knowing that that was THE dress

The dress is to die for! Keep in mind that not everyone has the same taste and style. Wear what you want to wear, if you feel beautiful and you are happy with the dress and you know its THE ONE go for it, forget all the negativity. This is about you it's your day you cannot focus on making everyone happy cause u are going to drive urself crazy.

That's terrible if she knew you loved it. I love Maggie Sottero dresses and I would assume her fabric would be quality.
I can see that material at times does look cheap if it's not made correctly. I've never seen that dress in person but I've seen at David's Bridal those type and they look silly. If everyone else says it looks good, it's probably just that your BM doesn't like it.
However, you're going to have a hard time forgetting what your bridesmaid said, so maybe you should keep looking and don't even ask her opinion for the next one.
Whatever dress you find, you can get a good deal on Maggie Sottero at Helen's Private Collection in Commack. Also, Renates in Lindenhurst is pretty good with ordering dresses because they don't have stock of each sample (If you know one you love).
Try Renates for Bridesmaid dresses.

I'm sorry your BM's were rude I just loked at hte dress and it's beautiful! And I'm sure it looks fantastic on you. I understand is people dont like the actual dress bc it's not thier taste but it's YOUR dress, you are wearing it.

I agree with this. You need to go with what you LOVE and try not to think about what your BM said. I looked up the dress as well and it is beautiful! I am also getting a Maggie dress and TBH, her dresses look just as nice as some of the 3-5K dresses I tried on at Kleinfeld's. I love my dress so much more then the dresses I tried on there and everyone thinks its a lot more $ then it really is.

that is just sooo messed up! even if its not their style they are your friends and should know your style and how to keep their mouth shut! especially if they know you love it.

It does not matter what the BM thought of it. All that matters is that you LOVE it. Who cares if it is not the BM style. She does not have to wear it. It is your style and that is all the matters!

That is quite rude! If you love a dress and they know it then they should keep their opinion to them self. Also she could have said something more tasteful then that is cheap. Everyone has their own taste in dresses so don't stress it.

I can't believe some people. If you love the dress go for it. I cannot look cheap. I'm also wearing a Maggie dress and those dresses are stunning!!! Anyone that openly voices their negative opinion about something you love is just plain rude.

I just looked at the dress and it is Gorgeous!!! I know you are hurt by your BMs opinions but you have to remember that they are just a Small Part of YOUR and FH's DAY. You should wear something that YOU love and that makes YOU feel the most beautiful. I really hope you can move past them and choose a dress that you love (what ever that dress may be).

Crashing over here! I've seen probably about 50 Maggie Sottero dresses in person and not a single one of them has ever looked cheap. They are one of the most popular brands because of the high quality and affordable prices. Go with your gut!

I have yet to see a wedding dress that looks 'cheap'. Especially a Maggie Sottero. All those dresses are very well made. Maybe these bridesmaids dont like lace. But if you do then order it. Its just an opinion...

Sounds like they are jealous and immature! Ignore them! You have to LOVE your dress! Remember it is yours! Not everyone will love what you pick. Be true to yourself and pick out the dress you love. You have to wear it and you have to look at your pictures 20 years from now!!!! I found mine at RK and ended up getting it at Helens in Commack because it was much less! Good luck and dont let anyone sway you!

Thanks girls! I am going on Thursday to RK and will make my final decision then. I'm pretty sure once I am there with just my parents and sister I will fall in love with it again. I will keep you ladies posted though!

I felt the exact same way. I was with my mom and I found this dress that I thought was 'the dress'. My mom cried, I cried, the whole bit. Anyway, I showed a couple of coworkers and friends, and they all had something negative to say about it. So I panicked and freaked out because I wanted everyone to be amazed at how beautiful it is. And I figured if these people were saying it, then my guests at my wedding will be saying it too. Anyway, the LIW girls convinced me that it was my dress. I went back and bought it this weekend. It's your wedding, not anyone elses. And remember if you feel beautiful you will be beautiful.
