My boss got a promotion...
...and now he will be Executive Managing Editor of my imprint and he will take on the responsibilities of another imprint. The decision was made because both imprints have gotten smaller through the past few years and we were just told to cut books from our upcoming list. The managing ed for the other imprin is moving to CA, so instead of replacing her, they made my boss do both jobs.
Now that I have explained that, let me tell you all, I think I am going to be made to be a saint as the Asst Managing Ed for the other imprint seems to do nothing but walk the halls and sit and chat with the girl in the office across from me. He comes in after nine and leaves at five all the time (I at least come in at 8:45 and stay until 5:15). I don't know the other guy except to see him, but I see him away from his desk so much.
I hope my boss appreciates me a little more when he meets his new asst![]()
