isn't it too early to do a first fitting? The wedding is at the end of July... I'm hoping to lose a little weight (not much) by then. Macy's told me to come in next week!
Thoughts?
I'm not picking up the dress until much closer to that time, just the veil and tiarra so we can have fun with hair and make up trials my BM and I.

i think it's rather early for an actual fitting. maybe they just want you to come and do a try-on to make sure the dress is what you wanted and such, and to ensure it isn't ridiciliously too small or big. but i wouldn't go for a first fitting until at the EARLIEST in May.

No its not too early for a preliminary fitting. My dress came in around Thanksgiving and I went a week later for my first fitting (and my wedding isnt til June).

I would go see it and make sure everything looks good, but it seems early for a fitting . My wedding was Dec and I started in Oct. I went down 2 sizes and had 5 fittings and it was plenty of time

Do they charge you for alterations every time they touch the dress? I think it's too early... I want to go try it on, but what if I'm skinny on the day I try it on and bloated for the next fitting? I'll talk to them when I go to see it... I just don't want to pay for 5 or 6 fittings between now and July!

I would wait a few more months before having a fitting, but it can't hurt to go in and put it on.

Yeah, I think it's too early for a fitting...but you should definitely go and try the dress on to make sure it's the right size, color, etc!!! And don't forget to take pics!!!

Go do a prelimnary fitting to make sure they actually got you the right size, but don't get the alterations done there or else you'll be surprised the week before the wedding, when brides tend to loose several pounds the last month...

Re: My bridal gown is in...
i got married late june and didnt have my first fitting until 1st week of april. its definitely too soon for your fittings to start.
and if i were you i wouldnt take the dress home until all of the alterations were done. if it gets messed up while you're home then the store isnt liable for it. leave it there and then its their responsibility.
