My Bridal Shower is all set!!!

My Mom, FMIL, etc decided to go the non-traditional route with this one! My Mom wanted to make sure that it was held at the place I wanted and that I was happy with everything so she asked for my input before booking it.

So, we went looking around and found a great place with awesome food to have it at!! I also bought a nice dress for it so she told me the date of the shower so that I'll be able to get ready, get my nails, hair and make up done and wear the dress I bought too! It is going to be on June 10th from 1-5 at Mannino's in Commack!!

We picked a great menu and I'm really excited. The date works out really well too because it does not coincide with vacations plans! I don't know any other details like favors, invites, decorations, etc... My bridal party will handle that so there is still some element of surprise. And BTW, a big thank you to Melissa for being so helpful and all-around wonderful with everything lately!!! You are the best bridesmaid, seriously, I'm so lucky to have you!!

Thank you to everyone who was so kind to me the last few days- it was tuff but in the end it worked out and we got a place and everyone is happy- including me! Yay!!

MANNINO'S

They even did a custom menu for us (They were FANTASTIC to work with!!)...

Appetizer
(Family Style)
Fried Calamari
Stuffed Mushroom
Cold Antipasta
Mozzarella & Tomato

Pasta (guests get a choice)
Rigatoni Vodka
or
Rigatoni Filleto di Pomadaro

Entree (guests get a choice of three)
Chicken Parmigiana
lightly breaded chicken breast made with fresh tomato sauce, topped with mozzarella cheese
or
Veal Marsala
medallions of veal sauteed in a marsala mushroom wine sauce
or
Filet of Sole Oreganata broiled in a scampi white wine sauce topped with proscuitto

Includes Unlimited: Soda, Coffee, Tea, Espresso, Cappuccino, pastries and Cake for the occasion.

like i stated in my original post... my mom wanted to make sure i was 100% satisfied with choices and she knows i can be kind of picky... so, the place and menu was something we did together... and, like i said originally again, she was open with me about the date so that i could get ready and use the dress i wanted to use... i'm a jeans and tee girl-- if i came to my shower in jeans i would be mortified... and again, like i wrote in the OP: the favors, invites and decor is the surprise part... i'm not a fan of surprises at all and it would be totally going against who i am for my mom to disregard that and plan a surprise anyway.

I will be taking part in my bridal shower also. I am not a big fan of surprises and also I know no one in my family can keep a secret lol...

good point.... every girl i know knew that she was going to her shower like weeks before lol b/c she found out one way or another... kinda funny.

yeah and i'm like you--- i hate surprises, i'm not good with them-- even when i was young i liked to know all of my presents-- i told my parents not to get me anything unexpected lol weird but true lol

oh really?? yeah that's common now-- well, at least you'll know it'll be perfect yeah my sister is going through a lot right now-- it's hard for her too, i don't expect her to do much-- so that's ok... hope you find a great place.

This is gonna be a fabulous shower!!!!

And don't worry, out here..I've never heard of 'surprise' showers, they don't do that out here. I think its a great thing...very popular in NY..but its no less special if its not.

As you know my shower in NY is not gonna be a surprise, and of course my one in New Mexico isn't either.
And either way...its gonna be great!!!

And at least...you'll look fab fab fabulous...and be ready to be up and at'em!!!

The menu is fab and so is the place!!!!!
