My bridesmaid dropped out....!

I seriously need help. few days ago, my friend of 20 years dropped ot of my bridal party because she couldnt afford the responsibilities it comes with. Which I totally understand and at least she told me 7 months before wedding rather than later. But , I dont know what to do now.. with her dress..with the extra space. I had 5 girls and 5 GM now it is uneven. Do I find someone else or leave it alone?? Help!

If you have someone you'd like to add as a BM, then do it. If they can fit in the dress, that's better. But I wouldn't add anyone just to even out the BP. Uneven BP's are fine.

To be honest, I did this to my brother and SIL 7 months before their wedding due to finances - who can afford a $500 BM dress out of college!!!???

Anyways - I did this before the dresses were bought, so she had an uneven wedding party, so she had one BM escorted by two GM down the aisle. It didn't look bad and no one questioned it.

I think that uneven bridal parties are fine. My bridal party is 3 GM and 7 BM We are just going to have one man escorted by two girls. I wouldn't worry about it. I am sorry that this happened to you though.

I told my MOH that if $$$ was an issue to let me and FH know. She told me I was nuts... but she thanked me for not 'expecting' her to spend a lot of money. It was more important for me that she gives me her 'Time' than spending money.

We are using her BM dress that she is using for another wedding 3 weeks before me since I happen to like the dress. If not, I would have asked her to pick a dress she could wear again. She is using her own make-up/hair person.

Maybe you can help her a little financially by buying part of the dress, etc.

Of course, you could not tell the other bridemaid.

My BP is very uneven, I have 7 girls which includes my matron of honor and 10 GM's also including BM. I already know who is going to dance with who because it was going to be uneven at the first dance. Don't worry, things will work out. I stressed over it enough to know things will be find. I promise you. Just take a breather.

My BP was uneven. There was more guys then girls, it worked out fine. My MOH walked alone, the BM stood with DH, and my brother that walked my mom down came back up and walked one of my BM down. People didnt even see him go back up and around.
I wouldnt ask anyone else, you dont want them to feel like a second choice

I'd leave it alone...no biggie about it being uneven. I'm sorry you had to deal with this though

you'll just have to add a groomsmen to another pair. But, I think you might be stuck with the dress if it's already ordered. You might have to pay for that

my bridal party was uneven.. unless you have a good friend or relative to replace her I would leave it...

Re: My bridesmaid dropped out....!

Leave your bridal party uneven. We started out uneven ourselves. With 14 weeks to go a BM and a GM dropped out. Then with 8 weeks to go another BM dropped out. We're still uneven and I could care less. You can't control other people and you'll make yourself crazy trying to be even.

thanks i really appreciate it. I think most likely i will leave the space. I dont have to pay for the remainder of the dress which is good.so we will see what happens. I'll have one girl with 2 GM which should be ok.

First, I'm so sorry you have to deal with this!!!

I am having an uneven bridal party. I'm having all my girls walk down the aisle alone, while all the GM stand with my FH.
Then coming back up the aisle one of the GM will walk with 2 girls.
I think it is fine to have an uneven BP. I actually think its different and it's nothing worry about.

Re: My bridesmaid dropped out....!

I had this problem...only it was my MOH!!!! (She was replaced by one of my BM's)
So my BP is uneven too! I would just leave it as is, unless you have someone who you can trust to fill in her place.

Good Luck
