does anyone know of an organization who may help her replace things like her mattress??

I am unemployed, so have limited resources ....

She lives in NC, right? Try the United Way or the NC Catholic Charities (you don't need to be Catholic) For some of the stuff she needs to replace also try thrift stores, salvation army, and goodwill.

for the emergency housing try Catholic Charities.. I used to work for the one on Long Island, and we placed people in temporary housing that lost their homes in fires, etc.
