Like seriously, they knew what they were getting into when you asked them to be in your wedding party, so why now, when its coming time for your events is it a problem? I haven't asked much of them, I haven't asked them to change their schedules for me, I give them more than enough time to plan around wedding things... Why can't I have ONE day where I'm allowed to make it about me!!!

3 of them didn't show up to my shower, didn't send a gift, and didn't even text or call the day of, my mom told me that some of them can't go to my bachelorette party, and now one of them just told me they might not be able to come to the rehearsal!!!! WHY CAN'T I JUST HAVE ONE NIGHT! THERE ARE ONLY 2 WEEKS LEFT! SUCK IT UP!!!!!

This is why I love this board. I totally know how you feel. Weddings are once in a lifetime and you're only going to have one bridal shower. My FSIL who I made a bridesmaid was forced to go to my shower. And at my shower she said to FMIL, 'Can we throw a bbq in my honor for the next 2 weeks and then it can be all about Dan and Jen'. ***...my shower was 3 weeks before my wedding. All of my friends heard her say that. She also hid in her room the majority of the time and when we took a group shot in the ends, she jokingly jumped in front of me before we took the pic. You're 24..grow up!

OMG so funny!!

I had one bridesmaid like this and she is no longer a bridesmaid. She complained about everything with the shower (I hear), started fights about the bachelorette party and wouldn't go (she refused to travel anywhere other than the city when the other bridesmaids were tossing around the idea of going to the wineries; they made it the city for her and then she still said she couldn't go because her sundays are very valuable to her as a teacher so she didn't want to party hard on saturday. lamest excuse ever), wasn't sure if she would attend the rehearsal dinner because she didn't know what her schedule would be like (when I told them the date 6mos in advance), complained how hard it would be for her to take off work for the wedding b/c she's a teacher and it's on a Friday (understandable, but either deal with it or don't do it, don't complain to me about it and act annoyed), and wasn't sure whether she'd take a guest or not. Meanwhile, I was nothing but grateful, tried to make sure it wasn't 'all about me' and never made anything mandatory anyway. When we parted ways she said everything has to be all about you. I laughed so hard. In this last year I haven't heard from her AT ALL meanwhile I would reach out to her weekly to go to dinner or get together. The last time I saw her before my shower a few weeks ago was when we got the dresses in February. Nothing was about me. She's just a turd.

Wow, sorry for ranting in your post I guess this hit a sore spot, lol. I agree with you, I don't know why for some reason weddings bring out the bad. Usually you make your bestest friends your bridesmaids. You'd think as regular guests they would've attended your shower. It's so ridiculous. Sorry you're dealing with this, too!!

I did make my bestest friends my bridesmaids, plus my sister and FH's SIL. I love them all from the bottom of my soul (maybe not the SIL, but she's 'family'), but all but 3 of them are making me nuts. Who's getting catty with who, who knows what I want best (which by the way I DO! ergh), who gets to do this, who is pissed because the other one said that... blah blah blah... Sorry for the rant but no one understands this stuff like the LIW girls!

Ugh!!!! I almost had a nervous breakdown!!!! Family and friends are the last people I would have thought to make the weeks leading up to my wedding stressful!!! Honestly GET THE F**K over it already! My wedding, my day! I think I'm allowed to be bridezilla now, thank you very much!!!!!

THIS!!!! Wedding planning has taught me that besides family (not even sometimes) and close friends (sometimes more so than family) can give two ****$$$$ about your day. I found out that my new SIL isn't going to my Bach. party due to lack of money. She just got married 3 weeks ago and has a great paying job. I'm only doing dinner and lounge in the city and whomever wants to spend the night down there can.
