At least it wasn't a deer- I'd rather it be a goose than Bambi.

I hate hunting My landlord downstairs is a hunter and it sickens me... I have to literally restrain myself when I see him come home from a trip.

i was behind somebody the other day on the road, and he had a deer strapped to his bumper. I just can't handle it. I almost wanted to hit him with my car. I just will never understand this.....

I can totally relate to this post. My dad and my brother used to hunt every year (now they live in FL) and I'll never forget this one time I came home..looked in my backyard and saw a deer hanging from a tree

My uncle hunts, FI and I HATE IT...people say there's overpopulation, etc...well then just get a bunch of vets to volunteer their time (trust me, many would agree to volunteer if it meant to stop hunting)...tranq. the animals and euthanize them in a humane way.

Stalking and terrorizing animals is sick. Some people honestly think that animals have no idea, of course animals feel fear and terror.

FI is also adamanet about being anti-fur, but that's a whole different thread.

I knew some guys that would go to these GATED ranches that would shoot these OLD Zoo animals like tigers, etc...when these animals were TAME...what sickos!

Many zoos sell their older animals to these hunting farms because they want to make room for the newer and younger babies that will attrack more people and make more MONEY. It's so upsetting to think about.

OKAY, I'm done now.

Me too. Hunting absolutely disgusts me - we do not live in a society where hunting is a necessity and nor is it necessary for overpopulation. STOP YOUR G*DDAMN URBAN SPRAWL!!!

There, that felt better.

I think Marisa Tomei's character from My Cousin Vinnie said it best... who remembers that movie? Can anyone find the quote?

Imagine you're a deer. You're prancing around. You get thirsty. You spot a little brook. You put your little deer lips down to the clear water - BAM! A f'n bullet rips off part of your head! Your brains are lying on the ground in little bloody pieces. Now I ask you, do you give a f*** what kind of pants the son-of-a-bi*** who shot you was wearing?!

(Sorry for the full graphics)

My DH and BIL are hunters. As well as my uncle! As long as I dont have to cut it, cook it, skin it, or eat it, I'll deal with it.

He is going Bambi hunting next week - he had better not bring anything home- i cant deal with a goose - how am i going to deal with that -

What pisses me off is that he now wants to go buy a rifle and keep it in the house - NO WAY!!!

My brother hunts. He was away this weekend. He uses a bow and a rifle. He hunts deer and I, too, remember a deer hanging from my tree in the backyard. I hate it! It is so cruel.

Does anyone remember the movie 'POWDER'? There is a part where a man shoots a deer and Powder makes the man feel the deer dying.

Yep..

Personally i think it's all our fault. We push into their land and screwed up the ecosystem. Yes, there's an unbalance. Hunting really is sick.

My Dad and uncles hunt. On our land back when we lived in Texas. Thing was, they ONLY did it like once a year and only took down one animal. They'd clean it and cook the whole thing.

I must admit I REALLY hate hunting for sport. At least have the balls to eat the thing and not waste it. Better yet, why don't you just leave it alone unless you're starving at it's your only source of food. McDonald's and Wendy's are open late!

Another exactly here!! And I loved the movie Powder... I can't get through the deer part without crying.

Also - I think human have several unfair advantages... try wresting a deer to the ground and killing it with your bare hands instead of blasting its poor head off with a shotgun! If it was 'mano-a-mano' it would be so much more of a fair fight (and would probably reduce the hunter population by the thousands! I bet only Ted Nugent would be willing to give that a try!) Animals have no chance in hell against us, whether it be guns or urban development. They're just trying to survive any way they can. *sniffle*
