She's been vomiting for the past two weeks, two times a day! We brought her to the vet this morning, they took x-rays. She swallowed a nickle! She had to go into surgery right away! It passed through her stomach and got lodged into her intestines! But thankfully they didn't have to cut out any intestines. Supposedly the surgery went well and she is coming out of the anesthesia now. I can't pick her up until monday! I feel so bad for her, she is going to be tramatized!
Not to mention this is costing us over $1000!
But she will be fine. I just miss her!

My childhood cat had to have surgery twice for the same type of thing. She'll be fine!!! Just remind her that she is not a penny bank!!!

awww.. that is such a story! i am so glad she is going to be OK but I would miss her as much as you are missing her right now!
My cat ALWAYS tries to eat everything .. I gotta be careful with the loose change!!

I totally know how you feel! My new puppy tried to eat a quarter! Luckily she threw it up! Dont worry she'll be home safe & sound soon enough!

Awww, I know how it feels to have a sick kitty. I hope she does well....I know you miss her! I freek out when my kitty gets sick (he has asthma and has attacks sometimes)

Gla to hear that your cat is doing well! I know you miss them when they're not around. My cat was at the vet for 2 nights and I missed her like crazy!

Do you have pet insurance? If you don't, you should definately think of getting it! Especially if your cat eats foreign objects!!! My Husband ALWAYS recommends to his clients pet insurance, it has saved people $$$$$$$$$$$$$$, ESPECIALLY in cases of foriegn objects. Although you won't get reimbursed for this surgery, god forbid something like this happens in the future, you should be covered.

OMG! I am so sorry this happened, but happy to hear she is doing fine. My prayers are with your kitty and the money is definitely worth it. We once had to pay 1k just for a thyroid shot for my cat. Pets are family too.

I called the vet this morning. She is doing well, they are going to try to give her some food today, and if she keeps it down, we can take her home! I can't wait to have her back!
Does the pet insurance cover swallowing nickles? or any other foreign objects? How do I go about getting pet insurance?b
