My Church

My Church

Sad news... We may not be able to get married at my CHURCH-----Our Lady of Mt. Carmel in Patchogue, NY. It is being declared Structurally unsound. and they are either going to fix it... or knock it down and rebuild something smaller. Now, there hasn't been a decision made, but if we book the wedding there, and it doesn't get fixed, then we will be put in another church (one that the church can FIND open for the day) but there is always the possibility that they will FIX IT AND ALL WILL BE BETTER!

Now, I have always dreamed about walking down the aisle at my church. It's one of those long aisles in the cathedral church that is just AMAZINGLY GORGEOUS!

But it looks like we are going to have to book at my FH's church because we would rather at least KNOW THE CHURCH we are getting married in rather then being shipped around last minute. So, I asked FH to call his church this week and see if they can hold the date for us until we find out what's going on with MY ChURCH and if MY CHURCH will not be ready.. then we will go with his CHURCH. I am just hoping that they will allow that. If they don't, looks like we are just going to have to book there!

Wow...this must be the week for hearing bad things about churches!

Good luck with everything. But I think you're doing the right thing. Imagine how much more upset you would be if you took the chance and then at the last minute you have to be moved to another church?
