My coworker of 5 years is celebrating her 40th wedding anniversary this weekend. Today she pulled me aside and gave me her wedding hanky to pin on the inside of my dress for my something 'borrowed' and started crying and telling me that the last 40 yrs of her marriage have been so wonderful that she hopes it does the same for me. I started bawling! My family has no heirloom thing like that so it's so special to me to have something like this on my wedding day! How sweet is that?

That is a beautiful thing for her to do. It is great to be able to use items from long marriages to help you start your own. I carried the bridal bible my mom carried 50 years ago. It was tied to my bouquet. It made me feel like my marriage was blessed the same way my parents' marriage was. yours is now blessed too!
