Sometimes I wonder about people!! Im sorry to hear your surprise was spoiled HOWEVER try not to let it detract from what is really going on - women who love you gathering together to celebrate your upcoming wedding. As brides we all know a shower is coming at some time so it's rarely a true true surprise but I still can understand your feelings in that moment. I have heard many different ways that people spill the beans, the person planning it probably needs to say "dont forget, its a surprise, DONT MENTION IT TO HER!! I repeat dont mention it-at all!" You'd think you dont need to do that but obviously... So what "27th" is your shower on? August?
Were her pictures from Lavender terrible or just the sales approach?
Any words of merriment ??

My coworker spilled the beans !
Maybe when your twin sister invited her she thought it was you inviting her since you look alike (haha-joke-and not a very good one)..too bad sounds like you would have actually been surprised. Perhaps clearing the air with "loose lips" would help you let go of being angry at her. You know, let her know (in a calm manner) that her lack of thinking before she spoke was hurtful to both you and your sister. If you do do that, try to do it in a very peaceful way because you're really doing it for yourself, no need to get into an angry scene. Sometimes its really good to do that otherwise it's hard to "let go" of being bothered by the other person's carelessness. I think its important to speak your peace. Not so much to make that person feel guilty, but for your own sanity. Anger is not an emotion you need in your life right now in this beautiful time. Enjoy the day, I bet you will. You can even do an exaggerated mock surprise gesture on the day of the shower...humor sometimes helps alot. Hang in there kid.

yikes!
When my sister got married last year, one of the bridesmaids was from out of town and had never been involved in a wedding before. I basically had to explain what her "duties" were as a bridesmaid (e.g buying the dress, chipping in for the shower) When it came time for the shower I had to say to her that it was a surprise and not to tell my sister. She thanked me for telling her because otherwise she might have spilled the beans to my sister. I guess I take it for granted that people understand what is involved when planning a surprise party but then again I have been a bridesmaid numerous times ( and now the bride!! :) So maybe your co-worker has never been invited to a bridal or baby shower before but I do think that someone should tell her that these parties are usually a surprise and next time do not call the bride or mom to be and give away the surprise.
