My dad has it...
Just got the news back about my Dad's biopsy, He officially has prostate cancer.
They found it in 2-spots so far, but won't know more till they do a bone scan and a bunch of other tests. I feel so numb right now. He's completely bummed. I can't bring myself to talk about it to him yet. I think we're all in a state of shock. Just needed to get this out... Thanks for listening.

Re: My dad has it...
That is awful. But I bet your Dad could really use a hug from you. It is better to talk about it and cry, then to ignore it. There are soooo many new and improved ways of treating cancer. With good doctors, and prayer I am sure your Dad will beat this! Stay positive.

Re: My dad has it...
wedbabe,I am so sorry.
Like the other ladies said with so many medical advancements today, I know he will be ok.
I am also waiting results of a biopsy for possible cervical cancer so I know how scary it is.
I suggest you tell dad how much you love him and try to take his mind off it.
Spend tons of quality time with him now.
If you need a friend I am here.
you can always email e at [email protected]
keep us posted please.

Re: My dad has it...
Wedbabe,I know your pain. My mom has been fighting breast cancer for 2 years now. We just found out the other day she now has it in the other breast. Our wedding (which is the same day as you!) is giving her so much happiness right now! Your dad will understand if you can't talk about it right away. It takes a lot of adjusting. Feel free to e-mail me if you ever need to vent!!!

Re: My dad has it...
wedbabe, my dad had it 3 years ago and is fine now. He chose the implant over surgery. I know how scary it can be. I'll say a pray for him, I'm sure things will be fine.

Re: My dad has it...
I just wanted to personally thank all of you for your kind words, prayers and incredible support. It means a lot knowing that you are all out there, not knowing who I am, and are willing to open yourselves up and make me feel uplifted during a sad and confusing time. I am glad I have you to turn to and just wanted to say again that I really appreciate your words of kindness, and I will take to heart all your suggestions. I just came back from visiting with my dad, and it was good. We talked about it a little bit. He said he made some difficult phone calls to our family and that we'll get through this. He's awesome! I'm trying to be positive right now, but it's a little tough. We have to wait a week before he has his bone scan, and then we'll know just how serious it is. Until then, I plan on getting sidetracked here on liweddings and chatting it up with all of you! Thanks again, Leslie
