awww i am so sorry you have to deal with this right now especially because it's supposed to be a happy time for you. Im sure your mom just wants you to be strong for your dad. i dont know how you're supposed to do that but when it comes down to it, i feel that you should be able to show how you are feeling also.

Re: my daddy

I went through a similar situation, it was my mom, its hard to stay strong but I think if you think of the happy times and just spending time with him your be ok. If your dad is well, maybe you could speak to him, watch a movie/tv, a board game so it will take your mind and his mind off his illness. My mom and I would talk for hours and take naps together in the hospital/hospice. There are also social workers who you could speak to before you go see your dad, if you think that might help.

I hope this helps. your family will be in my prayers.

Re: my daddy

i know it sounds impossible to do.....but i do see where your mom is coming from. She is trying to protect your father from feeling guilty or upset. However, this is what is happening and I think it would be good for you and your dad to talk about it. Maybe it will make him and you feel better. IDK how long this has been going on, so I don't know your where your dad is at in terms of preparing for this. Don't force yourself to be a certain way when you see him...it will just be ackward and he'll know it. Go there, and be yourself. Be his daughter. If it is too much to handle....go to the bathroom and cry a little, freshen up, and start over. I really hope this helps. You and your family are in my prayers.

I’m so sorry to hear this. I know it hard not to cry, but when you see your dad, Be Strong for him, it will help build his confidence to fight the cancer. You want to try to keep his spirits up, even though your crying inside.
Hope everything goes well

Re: my daddy

i have dealt with cancer in my family as well. It's very hard, and even harder when they tell you not to cry when you see your parents ill.
If you need to talk or anything, FM me.
Please let us know if there is anything we can do for you.

I will keep your father in my thoughts
