My Daddy is in the Hospital - update

He just got rushed to St. Francis he has a blood clot in his leg, please send you prayers for him he as been through so much already, 2 heart attacks and prostate cancer!! he doesn't deserve anymore

My dad is coming home day, the doctor said it was a close call and he is luck,

part of the blood clot had broken off and went it to he lungs, there were alot of clots in his lungs, but he is doing good now

Linda That is a great hospital, my friend is a nurse there. And, my FH had a blood clot in his arm that he waited forever to go to the dr about, bc he has no ins. and hates drs. When he went to the drs office his mom works for, they sent him to the hospital immediately and they wanted to keep him there but he said no, and he had to give himself shots of blood thinner for a week to jumpstart the meds (he was also on coumadin, a pill form of a blood thinner, for 6 mos). BUT, he waited forever and it all worked out fine. So it sounds like he may have went quickly -- they will put him on an IV and give him pills - it should be FINE!!!!!!

thanks for sharing, my dad too waited too long his legs been hurting for weeks he thought he pulled something!

It is easy, from what I know, to think it's something else. But I think the hospitals treat these all the time and I think that they are very used to it - so it will be fine. Have you spoken to him, or the staff, and gotten any kind of news? What did they say when he first went? How bad was it?

I just spoke to my mom and they said my dad got there just in time, from the time he left the doctor to the time he got to the hospital the blood clot went from his ankle to his pelvis... but hes doing good now! thanks for the prayers!

Sending lots of prayers for your dad! St. Francis is an amazing hospital- my grandfather used to use Dr. Abitton as his heart doctor in case you need a referral.

let us know how he's doing!

Your dad and entire family are in my thoughts. St. Francis is an amazing hospital. My brother traveled from Port Jefferson to there for his by-pass surgery and they took great care of him !! Your dad will be ok. Good thing is they found the clot before anything happened.
