This is a very nice house and admittedly a better buy than my townhouse in Smithtown if you're impartial to where you want to live.

Our townhome is priced competitively with the market.

We'd probably be looking at your dad's home if it wasn't in Setauket.

what's the difference between Smithtown and Setuaket?

they are both far out there - what's 10 more minutes???

I wasn't trying to insult the townhouse- it's very nice-

While i do not disagree that your townhouse is beautiful, because it is, you can get the two houses above for the same price and a lot more space!!

I just think this housing market is NUTS.

eta: Actually, the first house is $20K cheaper and the taxes are less also!

Not insulted. Just showing praise for your dad's house.

No difference between Setauket and Smithtown except we want to move west.

Also, the 347 traffic probably adds about 20 minutes to a westbound commute during rush hour. But that's besides the point.

yes, the first home is very nice. I wonder why its priced at 529K? Also, wonder why they don't show any interior shots.

As for 2nd home, beware that this home has been on the market for a very long time. The backyard faces an empty lot which is expected to be built upon at some point. Also, its in an HOA and though the listing doesn't support this, there are monthly common charges - I think its $100 a month.

3 village Sd knocks Smithtown's Sd out of the park. Smithtown is having massive budget problems - wouldn't be surprised if their budget gets voted down this year.

Not trying to insult but pointing out a large difference between the two towns.
