So after just about 1 year of being engaged we have finally chosen a hall and a date, now we are finally ready to book and the date I want is taken ! 20 months away and the date I want is booked! I couldnt believe it. Im not saying the name of the hall yet but I wanted 5-22-2010. So the only other Saturdays available at my hall in May are the 8th and the 29th. I really didnt want to have a Memorial Day weekend wedding, and the 8th was a lil early in May. So now im bummed and have to decide if I should just go with Memorial Day weekend or possibly choose a Friday date during those same two weekends.

What hall was it? Could you do an earlier wedding?

ughh, that's the ultimate disappoitment. but i would also go with the friday, your guest can start the weekend off the right way!

I would definitely say go for the 8th over the 29th. The weather will probably be gorgeous, not too hot, not too cool. I think if you want to stick with a Saturday go for the 8th, but if you are willing to negotiate days and stick with the weekend you orginally wanted then look into the Friday. It will be cheaper if you choose a Friday and you will still have the weekend you originally planned on:)

i would go with a different saturday rather than changing to a friday ...
personally i like holiday weekend weddings, it makes it easier for your guests to travel if they are out of town. but its a personal preference ... i still think you'd have nice weather on the 8th

That su cks- I'm sorry!! I think that either the 8th or the 29th would be fine. Even if it is a holiday weekend, I'm sure you would get a great turn out of guests.

I think the holiday weekend should be fine, so as long as you send out save the dates, so people don't make plans to travel that weekend

Holiday weekends can be hard for some, flights are always more expensive during the holiday and alot of people make plans to go away during the holiday I know i always go out of state for memorial day weekend.
