My day....

Ok...so today I had the dress shopping for my girls, and then the florist appointment. Here goes.....

Morning was grreat! The girls agrreed on one dress that I didn't even consider since the pic on the website does NOT justice. The 3 of them that came ALL fell in LOVE with it! So, they will all have the same dress. The shorter one (about an inch higher then the ankle) all the BMs will wear..including the juniors. Then, my 2 MOHs will wear the longer version ... that is floor length. THe MOHs will be purple, then the BMs blue, and the juniors will be purple as well. I leaned off the idea of everyother girl in every other color...would be too busy. But I still have the blue and purple. YAY! lol. So, now I just need to get approval from the last 3 girls...which I'm sure they will love as well! I have pics with my neice wearing it...so I'll post them when I have my laptop back.

Next was the florist... I went where everyone suggested...Burtons. Only, it's waaay out of my budget!! Almost $3,000!! I was only planning on about half that...since the flowers will eventually die... ya know?? So..I said I would get back to them. I don't know what to do. I will speak to someone I know that owns a florist, but I reeealy wanted to go with a big name for the centerpieces at least. Soo... I'll let you know what I end up choosing. I got SUCH a great deal for ALL the boks, coursages, and bouteneers from that other florist...only 600 for 12 boks, 12 boutineers, and 4 coursages...Burtons wanted alot more. Sooo... I'll have to go with the smaller florist I guess....

And, that was my day! A mix of both... but I'm glad that the girls have their dresses all picked and actully LOVE them. Next is me with my Mom in another week or so! Woo Hoo! Soo excited!! :)

Well, I went to Burtons b/c of everything that I heard. I guess b/c of my large bridal party it's costing me soo much more. All the other quotes I got on here were about 1500 to 1700 ... and taht's really what I was expecting. Buttons was my first... so I don't know. Maybe it was just the guy that lsted everything to me... Kept cutting me off whenever I tried to speak. I will see if I can find anything else, b/c I didn't get ANY other quotes yet..and I ONLY need it for the cps..I told him 3x..but he kept asking about my BP. Soo.. I don't know. I was there at 3pm. :) Don't get me wrong...I LOVVE their work.. think they do an AMAZING job...but since I'm paying for most of the weding..I just can't see paying that much only on flowers... JMO.

On a lighter note... I'm still SUPER excited about the dresses! YAY! Can't wait to post pics!! :) I will sssooooon!

I think 2009 brides will have better luck with smaller vendors and such... economy ***** pretty bad and they are desperate for any kind of biz, go for it!

I had a small florist shop actually willing to do a $180 sample for me, for free. Just to see, not buy.

I never went back, cause I found a florist I felt I could really trust. That was important to me, I'm big on flowers.

Wow, I'm shocked. They gave me a reasonable quote and were really cool at the meeting and later email communications . . . .How big is your BP?

11 girls in total in my bp... but 5 of them are under 10. I know I know...tons of kids...but they are my neices and I'm close with all of them. I think I'll jus do everything through the smaller shop in which I got my bok quote from... My freind had them done for her wedding nd they all looked beautiful...but I really just wanted to go for a bit of a bigger / well know place. I will still be in contact with Burtons... JUST in case.

I know that I ONLY heard great reviews from Burtions, so that's why I was a little taken back myself. The guy was nice, but I just didn't feel the same connection as I did for the venders I so far booked. Maybe b/c I went with my MOH instead of my FH...but still. I am going to get a quote from the florist when I already have a quote (do'nt remember the name of it lol) and see from there wat I want to do.

Oh, and I DEF. will NOT order my boks from a different place then my CPs... I just never realized how expensive CPs really were...OY.

Who did you work with at Burton's? I have spoke to Mike and he always seems sooo nice. I got a great quote too. I was suppose to be there for a 4pm appt today and completely got lost and missed it... yikes! I might have bumped into you there
I say go with the florist that give you the best deal. Just make sure you can see a mock up before hand of the centerpieces.

I was speaking with Mike through email, but then when I walked in, some other older guy helped me... Uhm... damn...I forgot his name right now...but I have his card in my wallet. I would lie to write another email to Mike when I get to work on Monday... just to verify they can't do anything better for me. I just can't see spending that much on flowers...My photograper is just about that price..and pictures last a lifetime...flowers dont. I looooove flowers, don't get me wrong, but it just makes me sad that I won't be able to afford it from them.... I wil do a bit more looking around... and keep everyone posted. Thaks!!

Oh, and I was leaving to my car at 345! LOL. I got lost too!! And I used to work over there! DUH ME! ha
