MY DENSTIST IS STEALING FROM ME!

MY DENSTIST IS STEALING FROM ME!

My dentsist was charging us a FORTUNE for work. We stayed because we have been going for years, however a tooth that the Dr fixed (post and crown fell out) and he wants to charge us full price to replace it (535.00 from Ins, and 400.00 from me) this tooth is only 5 years old, I believe that there should have been some responsibility to the dentist for this tooth. I offered for them to charge what ever they wanted to the insurance co and ill pay 200.00 (mind you frank had given them 75.00 towards the tooth back in november) they said NO and Eventually it boiled down to that I took my family somewhere else, the receptionist actually had the NERVE to call my dad and tell him I was mean and rude and that frank doesnt take care of his teeth and went on and on about his dental history which i believe is against the new hippa law. She wanted my father against me and to stay with them, my father said that he could not do this. I in the meantime was FUMING... Then I asked for my DENTAL RECORDS to be sent to my new dentist and the smart ass sent OLD xrays... and it took WEEKS... Now i call for my money AGAIN and they make up some story about I owe them 24.00 on top of the 75.00 that they kept and now they wont send me my money and wont back it up. They claim they sent me some kind of letter on January 13th but thats IMPOSSIBLE that i never received it. I have contacted the office of Professional Disiplinary and I am trying to get some kind of satisfaction but they are horrible to be stealing my money and not releasing my records. This dentist is in FRANKLIN SQUARE and if you want his name FM me cause i am not sure if I can get in trouble for saying his name on the net. He is on DOGWOOD AVE.

I am saddned by the fact that someone I have gone to for years would steal my money and has only been interested in keeping me as a patient because of Money. This is a very money driven office.
So now I have to start over with a new dentist and its gonna cost us a fortune when we dont have the money to begin with.

Does your dentist participate in your plan? If they are a plan participant, it would be much cheaper.

My dentist doesn't participate, but submitted, and I paid close to the same thing you did, for the same exact problem.

As for her telling anyone about your history, she should be fired for it.

Suzanne try Dr. Warner in Valley Stream. HEs awesome

Also which ins do you have? Is it a PPO plan? Usually they pay 50% of meajor work, and if its a network plan, the dentist charges a reduced rate.

He is on the plan I have a PPO and hes in the network, his fees are OUTRAGOUS..

He charged me 200.00 for 5 cavities and charged the insurance company like 600.00. They are THIEVES in no other terms...

Suzanne he can only charge what the plan fees are and he can only charge you the difference from the ins fees and what your co pay is.

If a dr is in a plan network, he can only charge the contracted rates

I would walk in and insist on having my records handed over to me. I am sure they are going to give you a hard time, but I would start raising my voice about them breaking the hippa laws, and giving out your personal information. If other patients are there hearing about that, they will not be happy
