My DH is SO bad with surprises!

Today is our six month anniversary, and we don't have anything special planned. I actually completely forgot about it until DH mentioned it to me this morning. DH mentions that he's meeting with an artist friend for breakfast in the neighborhood tommorrow morning. I say, okay, I have to get up extra early because I have a job interview I need to leave early for.
This morning, he asks if I want to walk him to the restaurant, since it's on the way to one of the train stations. He's meeting this guy at 9am, and I need to be out of the house at 8:00. He freaks out, 'Are you SURE you can't walk me over there with me?!' Yes, I have a JOB INTERVIEW. On my way to the train station I call him just to check up, and he's like 'Where are you?!' I was on the way to the other, closer train station. 'Are you SURE you can't come over here? I have something you'd REALLY be interested in!' I'm freaking out, because I hate surprises, so I ask 'What's going on?!' He's says 'Nothing, don't worry about it. I'll see you later tonight. What time are you coming home?'
I know what it is, I'm CERTAIN it's that he got his artist friend to draw a picture for our anniversary. I'm really excited, but I wish he had said something like 'I'd like to take you out for breakfast on our anniversary' or something a week ago so I could have planned around this and actually have been surprised. And to top it off, the job interview was cancelled.![]()
