My DH *really* wants to know if our Peanut is a boy or a girl...

My DH *really* wants to know if our Peanut is a boy or a girl...

But I want to be surprised!!! This wouldn't be a problem if he could keep a secret, but he can't!! He told me when my bridal shower was!!

I feel kinda bad that I won't *let* him find out (we had amnio & he could call the Dr.)

Did anyone else go through this!? With 17 1/2 weeks to go, I hope I can make it!!

You held out this long!!! Keep it up!! I don't think there's that fun suprise factor when you know. Yeah you get to see the little wonder but it's not the same. My friend knew so when I got the call it was like Johnnie is hear. Not as exciting!

I know!! We just went through the same thing when my sister had her son in September. We knew it was a boy for 6 months. We had the same reaction when she called... 'Matthew's here'.

My family is taking bets on the gender! We need a surprise!

Make him wait!!! You're carrying the baby, so you get final say.

(I know I'm not being very fair or nice, but I think a mommy should always get her way! )

Hmmm, good argument, JennRenee. Mommy's always get their way!!

He'll have to suffer, although, he did say if he ever accidentally saw *something* during a sonogram then it woudn't be his fault.

I hope he will wait, it will be a very exciting moment when you find out at the birth. I was yelling my head off b/c I could see his boy parts before the doctor or DH, LOL the nurse said she could hear me in the hall - and the rooms are soundproof. Tell him we highly suggest he hold out. It will be a practice in patience that he will surely need in the future as the parent of a toddler.

I still call Lukie the peanut! I have a slew of derivatives too: Peanut butter baby, Nutterbutter boy, 'P', pickle P....I swear he's going to think his name is Peanut not Luke.

We have the same issue here, although not pg right now. But I want to wait to know, and DH will have to live with that. There is NO way someone, anyone, can keep that kind of secret. He will slip up or have to tell someone. Just tell him it will be either a boy or girl and you will all know very soon.

Thanks, ladies!! He'll wait or he'll have one very unhappy mommy-to-be!!

We'll ALL find out in early July!!

Hi Kathi, how are you feeling? I agree with you -- when my time comes, I do not want to know. I just feel then that for 9 months you're guessing and stuff and then it's anti-climatic when you know everything about the baby except the weight!! But that's my opinion.

When my time does come, I'm going to have a problem with my MIL because she's already told me several times that she wants to know and I told her 'too bad' (in a nice way of course) and then Joe goes 'well we should tell her because she wants to know so that she can start crocheting' -- well crochet in neutral colors! Right? Too bad, when my time comes NOBODY is finding out anything!!!

Stick to your guns, you've come this far!! It'll be a really nice surprise!!!!

I vote for wating. With Brandon I found out the sex by accident the morning I was to deliver, (had to have a sonogram and PRESTO there it was )

Although I generally don't like surprises this is one well worth waiting for

Make him wait!!! I did not want to know the sex of our baby, however Nick really did. I too felt bad for not letting him find out, but in the end it was worth it. When our little Justin came out he was the happiest man alive.

I won! He'll wait! After he was finally patient enough to wait to feel the baby kick for the first time last night, he said it doesn't matter what it is and if I can wait, he can!! YAY!!!!

Thanks again ladies!!

Debbie: I'm feeling great, thanks!! I definitely have my aches 'n pains and nausea and fatigue and.... , but I can't complain!! It doesn't help, anyway!

Michelle: That's too funny about finding out Brandon was a boy just before delivery!! I'll remember to keep my eyes closed if I have to have a sonogram while in labor!

Baby dust to both of you!! **** **** **** ****
