MY DH saved a seagull's life this evening while we walked on the beach!

I just have to say how wonderful my DH is!

Tonight we walked on our beach and decided to walk to the end...I look over and asked him what was wrong with this one seagull, he had his mouth open...we approached him and realized that he had a hook in his throat, and was wrapped with fishing line all around his body...he was literally going to drown...he couldn't fly and the fishing line was being weighed down with seaweed.

I throw DH my sweatshirt, he's wearing his workclothes and just runs in the water, throws the sweatshirt over the seagull...pull him to the beach, and I'm assisting him holding the bird's mouth open as he slowly works the hook out of his throat. He was so amazing, trying to calm the bird, talking to him, telling him it was going to be ok...the most fantastic moment was when he finally worked it out, checked him out, removed all the fishing line, and we released him...watched him spread his wings and fly away across the water.

I love my DH!!!

WOW. That is amazing. Good thing your husband was there to help.

I was actually just talking to my father over dinner about why fisherman throw their used hook & lines into the ocean instead of in the trash We were on a party boat a few weeks ago and I saw the mate do this and I was so peeved!

Wow that is so awesome!!! That is so nice of him. Kathy you should be so proud of him! He is always willing to help animals in distress and I think that is so amazing!!!!

That's so great. I love the fact that FH and I are both lawyers (it makes our fights so much more interesting), but since I'm a huge animal lover, he always jokes around that I'm going to leave him for a veterinarian. There's definitely something to be said for a guy who runs out into the ocean to save a seagull!

as well... he did it in spite of the fact that 'the sea was angry that night, my friend.'

What a wonderful story! The seagull was very lucky he found you both on the beach.
