I finally got around to finishing my cardbox. I bought a small vintage luggage bag, from ebay, that had some travel stickers on. I then added a bunch more travel type stickers and I plan on holding open the bag with dowels.
It looks great! But I'm confused... so the case is just going to be wide open and guests will be putting their cards right in. Is it secure in any way?
It is an original idea.

Actually I will be putting it behind our table with a slight opening.
I didnt think of security issues since I didnt think people would take cards out of it but I could also keep it closed and have a sign that says 'Open Me', lol!!!!!!!

I love it. . we did something slightly similar. . not the whole travel them etc. but buying little suitcases and stacking them but we cut a whole through the top so people could just put envelopes in and it would be secure. . . I mean you might not have to worry about that but if you were concerned that could work. ..

Everybody is kinda making me concerned. I really didnt think people would go into the box. I am also only having about 100 people. Maybe we can have it and every so often we can take the cards out and give them to someone to hold for safe keeping.

A slight opening would be better. One that hands might not necesarally fit in.
Yea... people do steal cards. I hate to say it... but they do.. in hopes of there being cash inside. I've heard of it happening... which is I think the reason card boxes may have even come about. Just a safe way of keeping the envelopes. You could offload them into another room or bag. just be careful. The open me idea is cute... but I don't think that would be secure either. I think your idea of having it only slightly ajar is best.
