Now that they are out I can finally post pictures!
The Process...
I couldn't decide if I wanted all black or all white so I went with both. I really liked the black ones closed but I liked the white ones open. My MOH told me that the black ones closed look like their BM dresses!
Inside of black:
Inside of white:
Since I had the map and the card from the hotel already I didn't really worry about what they looked like and just put them behnd the RSVP and reception info. I didn't want to drive myself nuts!
I even printed the envelopes myself!
Right before they went out...
Sorry about all the pictures. I am just so excited that they came out as good as they did!

Re: My DIY Pocketfold Invites
you should be excited and proud of yourself. they came out great! Did you make the pocket folds yourself??
FH is talking about doing that, but I just feel like it's too much trouble.

Re: My DIY Pocketfold Invites
Thanks! I am actually pretty proud of myself. I am getting some great feedback from people who got them.
I did make the pocketfolds myself. I actually did a 'practice' one first. I played with it to see how hard it would be. When I found an easy way to do it that looked good I just made a bunch. When I got on a roll it didn't take too long. The tedious thing is cutting everything. Putting everything together was fun! Although I can understand how it's not everyone's idea of fun.

Tell you the truth, I looked at a lot of DIY sites. I searched DIY pocketfold invites and I found some DIY sites, and a coulple brides on the Knot who did their own and posted their templates. I kind of looked at the way they did them and 'faked' my way through one. I took that one apart a couple times and tried different ways. I tried to have it open like a book, but the cardstock I found was long rather than wide so I went with this design. Originally I had the ribbon running the legnth of the invite, but that caused too many issues so I changed that. I really just played with it, came up with this design and FH loved it. That's when I knew it was time to mass produce them! I don't know how much I actually spent. I printed everything myself, so there was the cost of printer ink thrown in, but I spent less than $200 on materials for about 125 invites.

Thanks Angela! Jim told me that I should come up with 5 other styles and start my own business.
You let me know when you start looking at invitations. If you find something you like, I'll see if it's something I can do. You can be my first customer! (I'll beat Mary's price )

What do you mean? Like the swirly design on it? (I am using that as a technical term here. )
I just searched the internet and used different words like 'decorative clip art' or something like that.
