Boy am I going to be one ugly lady when those roots come in...and of course it is just my luck.....in my entire 27 years I never dyed my hair but always wanted to try goldish highlights...so sure enough I get them done and then I get pregnant. Well what if once they grow in alot I dye it back...that way I won't touch the scalp. Boy...I was always under the impression that you had to wait until the first trimester is over.

Hmmm this is a tricky one. I didt have to sye my hair but I had to relax and they say the same pre-cautions but my doc said that he knows of many pregnant women that do..but there are some less harsher dyes out ther..ask your colorist.

I guess it depends on the Dr.. mine said no just for the first trimester.. i got mine done when i was just about 6 months.. i went to a salon.. i did not do it at home

My hair woman told me that it's not so much because of the chemicals touching your body and getting under your skin, because you could get highlight without it getting all the way to your scalp, but because of the fumes of the hairsalon. They can be very harmful to a fetus. She told me pregnant woman should absolutely not be going o the hair salons.
Don;t know what my Dr would say though.

I had my hair highlighted at 4 1/2 weeks, then again at 15 weeks. My salon uses veggie dye and they have an open window right next to my girls chair. It doesnt touch my scalp and if it does its only for an instant. Its up to you though.
Now I wouldnt dye my whole head where the chemicals sit on your scalp for like 30 minutes. I do it with foil and veggie dye which is less harmful than the other stuff.

I was told it was ok after the first trimester and as long as they use the foil wrap. I decided to hold off until after pregnancy. I figured it's not worth the risk.

I have had my hair highlighted twice since I became pregnant - my dr. has no problem with it......using the foil, not anything that sits on your scalp of course.

I'm not pregnant yet but when I start TTC I'm going to have to stop my acrylic tips because I don't want to do them while pregnant.
I was told my by maincurist/hair stylist/colorist that it's OK to still have wraps but you know...with all the things going against me in the first place (age, crohn's, hypertension and weight) I don't need to do anything voluntarily that might harm my baby.
And I'm going to be completely salt & pepper if I don't dye. I don't know what to do
