My dress

Re: My dress

I honestly love the dress the way it is. It looks so soft and flowy. If you want more beading, i personally wouldn't put it on the train. Maybe more on the bodice. But HONESTLY i love it the way it is now

Re: My dress

i think its all in the personality.... the dress is beautiful (honestly), if it was me i would like to have a little more beading maybe on the edge of the train (eta: dont know if it can be done)... but thats ME, i do everything over the top and i always want add, you need to do what suits YOU. The dress is beatutiful dont doubt that! And he's a guy! hellllooooooo guys dont know what there talking about!

I Love the dress, if you felt beautiful in it and like it was made for you, thats all you need!

You know you can always get a brutally honest opinion out of me!!!

First off, guys don't know what they're talking about. I guarantee you if it was his FW walking down the aisle to him in that very same dress, he wouldn't be thinking about the lack of beadwork on the train, and neither will your FH.

That being said, I do not think it is TOO plain. It is a simple dress, but that's the style, and it doesn't make it an ugly dress. I totally agree with the previous poster though...if you were to add any beading at all, definitely the bodice, not the train. Could it use a little something on the bodice? Maybe a tad. But it certainly doesn't NEED it, and if it becomes an issue of finding someone capable to do the beadwork, work an acceptable pattern, etc...I wouldn't bother with it.

I do like the dress, and I think you're going to look very pretty in it whatever you choose to do.

nooo..the dress is soo pretty...it looks like it is very flattering too and the back is beautiful!!
if you want to bling it up do it with jewelry or a piece for your hair
dress looks very classic and you can't go wrong with that

I love it!!!! Sometimes the girls on this board are just to nice and I'm just like 'Tell me like it is!!!!'. Anyway, yes, he is a guy so maybe I shouldn't think he knows anything. I already told FH that the dress is really simple and I think I might feel not like myself if there was more to it. But i want other people to like it when I'm wearing it not just me lol!
I should post my veil too because I got something a little more flashy to go with the dress so maybe the extra beading would look overpowering then? Would you guys mind checking that out too so you can get an idea of the complete look? Its in the album under my dress.

It's simple and that's the beauty of it.

I would wear a HUGE BEAUTIFUL BLINGING bracelete and amazing earrings to give it that old Hollywood glamour effect. V

The veil def adds to it, andin a classy way.... its great too cuz you don t have to have that on all night and at least you can get that extra beadwork in some pics and then have other pics with just your dress! thats like the best of both worlds!!!! Good choice!!!!!

Re: My dress

Since you asked for it I am going to be very honest with you. I don't think your dress will look good with beads on the train because of the material. I think the beads will weigh the train down. If YOU think your train is too plain then I would dress it up with a long veil with beads. Your train will only be down for just the ceremony. If it was me, I'd rather you spend the money on a nice bustle. Maybe dress it up with some rhinestone in the back.

Re: My dress

I like the idea of bling BUT I am a brat and I didn't want to wear any jewelery unless it was real diamonds. Obviously that left me with little options lol. I know its so bratty. I have beautiful earrings that are very small and I had the matching necklace changed to make it look bigger (It was too small with dress when I tried them together). I brought the bracelet from Zales and its not big but it does have diamonds. So in all, my jewelry is on the simple end. But I do LOVE LOVE LOVE my earrings. Until today when I saw a pic of one of the 09ers hair trial and she had almost the exact same earrings (just the bottom piece of her earrings) but hers hung lower and mind are just the bottom piece of hers attached to a stud. (This is confusing I will try and look up which girl if you wanna see). Anyway, FH had just asked me yesterday if I wanted to get the earrings changed to look more blingy like I did with the necklace and I said no because I love them and can wear them again... but then I saw that other girls pic and it looks so beautiful. I wish I could take a picture of the stuff I have right now but FH has my camera in Texas lol.
I am having a seriously wishy washy night and I'm usually never like this. I picked my dress after trying on like 7 and only in one store. I don't know what is up with me right now lol.

What do you mean spend the money on a nice bustle? There is a choice in that? Explain to me lol. I'm clueless!

Re: My dress

This is why I have not shown anyone what my dress looks like or told them about it. I love it and that's all that matters.
Remember why you fell in love with your dress....

Re: My dress

Okay thanks. Talked out of my dramatics. I think I have too much free time tonight lol.
You guys are right. I LOVED my dress when I put it on and I was talking to a guy who wore shorts to work today. I should consider that when taking opinions lol
Anyway, besides me loving it, one of the reasons I brought it was because of my best friends face when I tried it on. I want Joey to have that face lol.
I'm being silly. Thanks girls!

I honestly love the dress. If you want more beading/lace why not get a super fancy veil to dress it up. I would not touch the train its a beautiful dress!!!

Thank you! I have the same opinion of over-the-top dresses (though some people do pull them off very well- I just wouldn't) and I was going for a simple/classic look. So I guess that I'm achieving what I was aiming for. Leaving the dress as is. Plus, I have spent enough money on this day already lol!

On a side note... I was just reading the last post and I was like oh how weird that girl is getting married on the same day as me! And then I realized I was reading my own post. I am way to brain dead right now!
