Has anyone been told that they're dress would be in in a few months and out of the blue been called bc 'the dress is in'?
I'm only asking because I ordered my dress three weeks ago and was told that it would be in in December. They called me last week to tell me the dress is in.
I just find it very suspicious and am beginning to wonder if they're selling me the sample. The dress I ordered was the exact same size and color as the sample.
I'm not sure, I guess you'll have to wait and see. I'm sure you will be able to tell the difference. But that dress is stunning!!

The dress is really pretty...
I don't know, I would be worried about the same thing because I was the same size and color as my sample as well. Were there any distinguishing marks or stiches on the sample that you would be able to tell? Like a loose bead?
I hope everything works out!

I had that happen to me...the months they told me it woudl take...actually took 2 weeks. Granted it was not the same color as the dress i tried on BUT it def wasn't in perfect condition...i made them fix everything...for free! I would just have a few extra set of eyes to look for flaws.

I do not think so. Sometimes I think these bridalshops may fib a little just in case something is to go wrong to allow enough time to fix any mistakes. I was told my dress would take six months to come in. I ordered in May and in exactly two months the dress was in.

Same thing happened to me and it was a newly ordered gown. If you are worried, get in there and go over that dress with a fine tooth comb! BTW, very pretty dress

I don't know. I was so extatic when I purchased it that I didn't notice anything.

when you go to pick it up, you can always browse the racks and try to find the sample

I know with a lot of sales environments its a matter of 'under promise and over deliver.' They may know it will only take 6 weeks to get in but will tell you 12 this way you are ecstatic when it comes in earlier.

Re: MY DRESS CAME IN SUSPICIOUSLY EARLY W/PIC
This happened to me - came in within a month from RK Bridal. And when I tried it on... the dress was HUGE!!!!! They remeasured me to make sure I was the same size, which I was, and then had the seamtress measure the inside of the dress and it turns out the dress was a size 14!!!!!!!!!!! Which was many sizes too big. They re-ordered for me and it came in last month - I tried it on and now it fits...phew!
BTW: dress is gorgeous!

they told me probably 4-6 months and they quote that just incase something happens, i.e. the designer gets reallly backed up so they tell you the longest possible time to avoid bridezilla moments of dress not coming in on time.
If your worried though, i would agree check it over carefully!
the dress is really pretty by the way!

Re: MY DRESS CAME IN SUSPICIOUSLY EARLY W/PIC
I tried on dresses on a Monday, ordered it the same day and it came in on that Friday! Less than a week!
I tried on a huuuge dress as a sample so I know mine isn't a sample, and I have heard that some of the designers have them in stock in different sizes you know?
I'm not really worried about it... but like everybody else says just make sure you really look at every detail.

Beautiful, Amazing gown! LOVE IT! **Just like everyone said, make sure you check it over for any damages, discolorations, fadeing, stains, pulls, missing beads...etc.

Girlfriend it had tags , tags with swatches on it (ivory, oyster, white).
What do you think of that? Is it common?

That's a GREAT idea. Say you want to compare the color of the fabric from when it's brand new and fresh to a dingy sample that's been handled for months or years. If something shady went on, you'll know it fast.

First of all, that dress is major!! I'm thinking that its possible that they had your dress from a canceled order? Or perhaps the gown designer keeps a lot in stock and it wasn't a made to order. SOmetimes with popular gowns that happens. I think they tell you to order so early in case there's a mistake on their end. I'm ordering my gown a year before so god forbid there's any discrepancies there's time to correct it. I'm sure everything will be great. No reputable bridal shop would try to pull one over on you for a sample. Think positive!

It happened to me too but not as soon. I was told 6 months, it came in 3 but it wasn't the same color as the sample. I would imagine if they sold you the sample it would be kind of dirty, especially on the inside where it rubs directly against a million people's skin, like on the top edge. HTH
