I had my first fitting yesterday and my dress didn't zip up - there's like a 2' gap at the top of the zipper. The seamstress is going to let it out, but I'm freaking out. Not just a LITTLE, it is WAY TOO SMALL ON TOP.
Did this happen to anyone? Were they able to fix it? Did you have to lose weight?

I have the same problem but its for a wedding I am in in July. I am the MOH and one size up was too big so I bought the smaller size thinking I would lose weight, but no!!! I don't know what to do!

Another bride had this problem, and they were going to make her dress a corset back but by the time she went for her next fitting it was fine. But they can let it out, or find another way to improvise ... usually.

This happened to me. They were able to let teh seams out & it was perfcet. They seamstress wasn't freaked out at all. I think I was on t he border of 2 sizes, so the orderd the size that fit the rest of me, knowing, there would be enough room in the seems to let out.
It did freak me out though--I didn't completey trust that it would be ok, even though the seamstress wasn't worried.

I had that problem. I did a few things...I changed my lingerie, I lost more weight, and the seamstress let out each side by 1/2 an inch

I ordered it maybe 9 months ago and my size hasn't really changed, but I was in between two sizes and I insisted on them ordering the smaller size. They didn't argue because it was close. Now I HAVE to lose weight.

one of my BM's has the same problem. she ordered the dress in a 4 thinking she would lose the weight but low and behold never did...she actually gained a few pounds. needless to say, the seamstress was a bit frustrated. but she let it out in the seams and took some of the extra material from the hemming and you can't even tell she had to let it out.
dont' worry, i'm sure everything will work out and you will still be stunning on your big day!

First off, were you wearing a slimming bra underneath? They work wonders.
Someone on '06 had the back changed to corset for the last like 3 inches and it looks great - she had pics of it just last week. I'll see if I can find them.
I'm all about the bust minimizer bras. look into one. They work miracles.

I think glinda_goodwitch had the same problem. The seamstress added a corset back, and it came out great. Do a search. We were talking about it earlier this week.

my dress fit but i lost a lot of weight toward the end. i did atkins, worked out and stress. i also bougth a tight corset and that helped even more.

Don't worry it will work out. You have a month. That can change a lot. Cut down on the carbs and sugar for the next 4 weeks and you will lose some extra weight. Drink lots of water and go for a few walks. You'll be fine!

One of my BMs had this problem, her boobs got bigger and the dress didn't zip up, so they ordered extra fabric and added a panel.

awwwww, I hope it works out! It happens to plenty of girls! I am inbetween sizes and wanted to order the smaller size becuase i'm going to lose weight, the women at the bridal shop would not order it in the smaller size because she said dresses come in too small all too often.
