My dress drama........I am starting to panic

So after my second fitting there was a snag in the front of my dress and a dark spot....not good.

I complained but nothing was done. I called 2 days later and complained to the owner and she agreed it was a problem. Now they are ordering new silk from the manufacturer and REPLACING THE ENTIRE PANEL OF FABRIC! Oh my god...the wedding is in a week and I am freaking out.

My final fitting is not till wednesday but she said they silk may not be in by then....ok deep breath deep breath. when it does come in I am worried out that they are going to really screw up the dress and its not going to fit right and wedding is so soon. This is so f-ed up! They assured me its no big deal and they do this all the time...but I am freaked out by it.

Wow i am so sorry. I know you must be in a panic. Just try and think happy thoughts!! i'm sure the shop has dealt with things like this before and as they said The seamstress can usually do things pretty quickly. And if they don't they should know it only reflects badly on them. But don't even think that way cause they will fix it and it will be beautiful and perfect!!!

Did they say how or when the spot or snag happened?

only asking because..and i won't mention the name of the place.. it wasn't a wedding dress..but my mom went to order her dress.. it was one she liked from seeing it online and so she went to try it on but they didnt have the sample.. they had someone's dress though that had come in and the lady asked my mom if she wanted to try it on. My mom said no because she didn't feel right about trying on someone's dress!! So sometimes i wonder what these places do with the dresses they are holding!!!!

Ok at first they were trying to deny the snap but yeah its there and I am glad I stood my ground. But this dress better be perfect by Thurs at the latest or I will FREAK! I like my place and have had good service up until now. (But have heard horror stories from others)

oh boy....deeeeeep breath. That is all you can do. I would call EVERY DAY and check the status. I went through such a fiasco (i just realized i've never had to type that word....sp?? haha) with my BM gowns and everything worked out in the end. I'll never go back to the place I got them from, but for the most part, everything was OK.

OMG Jen how could that haven happened? Do they have any idea, or wouldnt they even say I'm sure they are very reputable and will make it 100% right for you. I would not call every day for status on it, neither you or the dress shop need that extra strain on you right now Give them one call before your next fitting -but when you get there make sure you are 100% satisfied and don't accept anything less

OMG I am soooo sorry, personally have dealt with that place for my brothers wedding and dont like them but that is neither here nor there. I am sure it will work out- not saying you wont be stressed all week (unfortunately ) but they need to make good for their name's sake. BBB is always lurking.....

just a funny side note- my mom wanted to personally take out a Billboard trashing them - I told her if we wouldnt get caught and it didn't cost so much I would be in there with her

OMG, that's so stressful! I'm confident that it will all work out in the end, and hopefully this will be your requisite last minute stressor and everything else will go perfectly. Keep following up with them. I hope they will make you a priority, and I'd imagine they have dealt with stuff like this before

We also have been having some dress drama -- i think it's just part of wedding stress

My mom's dress came in the wrong color, no apologies, turns out they stopped making the original color (she got to choose bw the new dress, the sample or find something else) and in the end we decided we liked the new color better. my mom's second fitting was yesterday and they made it WAY too small (it was originally swimming on her, and she lost even more weight, but it didnt come close to zipping yesterday) but they are fixing that (ripped out the seam) and all we can do is cross our fingers that things will work out.

My dress had a measured length because it has a bubble hem, and it came in too short. They are adding a 1 1/4' panel on the underside to lengthen it which should hopefully take care of that, and it's also still too big on top (yesterday was my second fitting) so they are doing a rush and I have another appt Thurs (they squeezed me in after their last real appt) bc I'm going to be 1000 miles away from June 28 till the week before the wedding!
