My dress has still not come in. Should I be nervous that the alterations won't get done on time? Or am I overreacting? I ordered my dress back in August last year for God's sake, I can't understand what's taking so long!

I don't think you should panic just yet, but I'd sure be PO'ed at the place you ordered it from, 11 months sounds like an awful long time for a dress to come in....unless it was special order or something.

I am going for my first fitting 8/3. I would not panic but I would definately call them and stay on them until you get an answer.

The dress I ordered was one they had at a trunk show, it isn't usually shown in the stores. I don't know if that has anything to do with why it's taking so long.

I would not worry I am getting married 09/10/04 the last time I saw my dress was last August I just got a call three weeks ago that my dress was in, so I go for my first fitting July 31 So I have not seen my dress for 1 year wow that's a long time

i wouldnt freak but - i would check on what is taking so long - my dress isnt here either probabaly wont be till september - of course i had to change the dress so this one was only ordered in june

What does the shop say? While you still have plenty of time to do alterations the fact that the dress was ordered a year ago concerns me.

My dress isn't in yet either, and I ordered it June of last year. Don't worry, the way I look at it is, I know I won't be naked for the wedding!

Mine's not in either. I think there's probably plenty of time for your alterations--it's easy to get panicky when you read on these boards about other girls' dresses coming in so much earlier. Just start calling the shop a lot and keep on top of them.

DO NOT PANIC My wedding is September 11th and I am having my first fitting Tuesday. I also lost 42 pounds I had ordered my dress in December. Some places or designers just take longer. After your fitting you should be able to get a second fitting or pick up about 2 weeks later. Most of friends only had their fittings the month before the wedding as well. Just check with the store to be sure that they still have your order pending.

don't worry... I was freaking out myself b/c some girls who got their dresses from the same place as me were comming in late... but it all worked out and actually had my first fitting today...

My fitting isn't until August 26 & I'm getting married the day before you. That is plenty of time. some peopel only have fittings in the last 2 weeks.

I wouldn't stress yet- I am not going in for fittings for another month. BUT I would make a pest of myself if I were you, just to be on the safe side.

I wouldn't worry about it - my dress came in a bare 3 weeks before the wedding, and I needed lots of alterations - 4 appointments! Everything came out perfectly!
