my dress is gone!

About a month ago I went to paradise bridal...all alone..dress shopping...I tried on a bunch but fell IN LOVE with one in particular..if I tell you how many dreams i have had with this dress since....anyway...I took my mom and sister back today and.......MONIQUE LOU went BANKRUPT..CLOSED DOWN..EVERY DRESS IS DISCONTINUED!!!!..including MINE!!! I cired and jsut left they tried getting em to try others but i was so upset .....i hated everything.....i relaly did LOVE this dress

do you have a picture of it? if you do, I agree with julie, you can have a dressmaker make you the dress.

How pricy can that get though?

girls what are the names of the websites that have like EVERY dress....not bridesave..its another i was given a million times..but forgot..sorry :(

You can also see where they sent the samples to & see if you can buy that... OR if you can track down other places that carried the dress, they may sell you the sample as well - then just have a seamstress fit it for you...

You can try to get it from internet shops- they may have some in stock. Or, you can call around and see if any other stores have any in stock.

You can try netbride.com - maybe they have it. And do a search on the internet - there are a lot of bridal stores on the web that will sell to you or that also have an internet business.

Why not try calling all the places on the website that carry the gowns and ask if they have what you are looking for. They may be able to ship it to you if you find it and then have a tailor help you make addjustments

i would suggest going to all the stores that carry only samples and see if they have your designer and dress. i know there is a place in oceanside on long beach road that carries only samples of discontinued dresses.

I had a hard time finding a dress that I loved (for my 1st wedding). I found a pic of a top I loved on one dress, and a bottome I loved on another...took it to a dress maker and she charged me $850 for the perfect dress! (That was 9 years ago, so I'm sure prices have gone up but it's certainly worth a try!)

I'm not sure where you live, but I used Robin @ Designs On You, on Terryville Road in Pt Jeff Station (dont have her # off the top of my head, but she's listed) She even made all 8 bridesmaids dresses!

Yes.....do you have a picture of it?

If not, go to Google.com and see if you can find the dress designer's webiste. If not go back to the beginning of Google.com and click on 'image' and then type in the designer and see if it pops up. If it's big enough to see detail, print it out. Or print it out either way. Bring it to a seamstess. See if she can duplicate it for you. You'd probably get it cheaper too doing it that way.

I looked on THEKNOT.COM for Monique Lou dresses for you. It says they have them at Adrienne's in Islip. There are also pix of 4 different ones if you needed a pic, maybe it's one of them. Just a thought. You can see if Adrienne's has any left (samples), have it cleaned if it needs it, and then take it where you want to be altered. You could also call Kleinfeld's in Brooklyn, I hear they have a gazillion dresses.

My theory is this...If you cant have that dress then it wasnt your dress, the one you were meant to have. You WILL find your dream dress and that is the one you will be able to have!! Good Luck!
