My dress is in!!

I was so worried the other day - about the dress! Despite the logical reasoning I have been doing with myself, I still have been getting nervous about the dress. I called and it is in!! and so are my bridesmaids dresses! It really made my day.

Choose something that fits with your personalities. If you both like the beach, do it at the beach. Central Park is nice, too, as well as Fort Tryon Park (A train to 190th street in Manhattan).

Thanks so am I...I was really delightfully surprised. And the bridesmaids dresses too..My headpiece didn't come in yet but I ordered it later. The main worry has been quelled. How are you doing? How are your plans going?

I'm glad it worked out.

Thanks Cindy. When are you getting married?

My plans are going along. I'm feeling time restrictions, but I'm trying to get a lot done. I finally got the party favors done. With 26 more days to go I still have a lot to do. I still have to get a marriage license!!!!

Wow 2 months!! How exciting?

Trust me, crossing things off your list takes time. Sometimes things just happen that you can cross 2 or 3 things off at once. I'm totally convinced things happen at times for a very good reason. When we got the favors done, we started to tackle the out of towner baskets. So I was able to cross that off my list....I'm not bragging. It just happened to work out that way! It works even better when my FI gets motivated to tackle a project. Then when we start having problems with something he is like, 'Guys don't usually do these things!!' I have to laugh.

Hi Therese -

Don't panic! Actually, I wasn't really thinking of it either at first until I saw Lee's posting the other day about her dress. Then it stirred up all the panic. I called and...it was there! I'm not going for a fitting until January but it's there so I'm happy. Definitely call but remember that you do still have some time on your side. Remember also that it will be the 'slow season' in January & February so we should get good service from our vendors... Do start with the veils though, if you haven't narrowed down what style you want. After you decide the style, it will flow from there. How are your other plans? I still haven't done invites or flowers...but I'm in that funny zone. Still not close but not far away either. I have been feeling like I am slacking a bit lately too. But I do want to get those flowers and invites done before the holidays set in. 4 months and 11 days till we're wives!!

Yes...I am glad about January too. I was going to cut my train but now I am leaning towards actually doing the bustle. I got my headpiece at the same place as the dress. I loved the style that matched the dress except that it is all white and my dress has a little bit of color in it. They are going to add a little color to the headpiece. I have seen a lot of nice headpieces though. I got one where the veil is off the back vs. over the top of your head. I will leave it on the whole day. I think deciding whether you want to be able to take it off (or detach the veil) or leave it on makes the decision on what style to choose somewhat easier.

None of my planning so far reflects that it is St. Patrick's Day...my fiance is 100% Irish but I am only 1/4 so it isn't a full blown Irish wedding. He will have family in from Ireland and of course we will have some of the Irish music but other than that, it hasn't been the theme. I do have an Irish linen ringbearers pillow and actually, if we weren't getting tight on money and I thought it was possible to find anyone who isn't going to the parade, Irish step dancers would be really nice.

What a cute idea - the cookbooks. How are you putting that together? That is very nice, unique.

No, I wish I could do that with the dress. When I went I was thinking of cutting the train and having a cathedral length veil but in the time since, I decided against a cathedral length veil (too much effort for me) and have an elbow length veil. I didn't think I cared for the bustle but now I'm thinking that it might look OK. My maid (soon to be matron) of honor will be 'thrilled' to hear that I may be in need of her bustling skills :o) I don't know the length of my train but I don't think it is that long and it is actually a lighter material so I don't think I will have the weight problem with the bustle. The detachable train is nice.

Cookbooks* Great Idea! :} *NM*

Glad to see your message. I was getting nervous for a second there. We booked Thatched Cottage for May 2001. I can't wait. The food tasting was amazing and I was very impressed with the band showcase. Can't say the same for the one at Crest Hollow. I also can say I wasn't as impressed with Westbury Manor as some were. Felt like a Wedding Factory to me. But, as you stated well, it's a personal choice. Personally, I can't wait for our wedding at Thatched Cottage. Everyone, I have met there has been wonderful!
