I found the wedding dress that I wanna wear.....I LOVE IT, but here is the thing. I have always wanted a corset back, the dress that I fell in love with does not have a corset back. So today when I went dress shopping with my MOH (for herself, she is recently engaged) I decided to ask if my dress can be made with a corset back. They called the designer who said 'she does not like to change the styles of her dress so they will not do it' but the seamstres at the store I am gonna order my dress from said that she can totally do it for me.
So here is my question....... Should I take the chance and change the back of my dress of should I just leave it???? Has anyone else done anything like this??

I think that if it's what you have always wanted and it will make you happy then go for it.

I can understand you wanting to get the dress you have always dreamed of, but I don't know how comfortable I would feel having my whole dress altered, did you check and see if perhaps another designer makes a similar dress with a corset top? If the seamstress has a good rep. and you really love the dress then go for it, I would just check around first. Better to be safe then sorry.

How good is the seamstress and how much will it cost you? If she is good and says she can do it, then go for it! You only get one day to have everything exactly how you want it

I guess it depends. If you really want it and it will look good w/the overall style of the dress then have them do it. For me, I wouldn't do it because I'd get too nuts over how it will look but that's just my own insanity.

i know that if you get a jasmine dress they will alter it to how you want it to get the perfect dress you could always look at their website to see if there is something similar and then see what they can do to make the changes that you want

I would double check her references, see if she's done this for other brides before and find out what they thought of her work before I made the decision. It sounds like the perfect solution, but I'm not a seamstress so I don't know how easy or difficult it would be. Good Luck!

Re: My dress issue.....alittle long....
my friend switched her top and bottom of the dress, it went well, my cousin took different parts of multiple dresses and that worked out fine, i think you should take the chance but write it in your contract that if you dont like it they will fix it to your likening. good luck
