ok this is really silly but.... do the wedding bands actually go on the ring pillow or is that just a symbol?

it depends on the individual. Some people have ring bearers who carry the pillow down the isle, BUT still have their rings held my the MOH/BM. Personal preference by far

personally I'm afraid to have my little guys carry them so I will probably give FH's ring to my sister and FH's best man will carry my ring.

I think the BM & MOH will have ours. My RB pillow actually has 2 'rings' on them already.

they usually come with little metal rings on them i wouldnt trust any kid with mine
in all of the weddings i have been in the MOH and BM hold the rings and give them to the B&G when they are ready - so i am doing the same!

It can but it doesn't have to. Some ppl place fake rings on it but leave the real rings w/ the MOH and BM. I think they sell fake rings at Michaels.

i bought fake rings at Claire's for my DIY ringbearer shell...there was no way i was letting Dh's nephew walk outside, near the water with our real wedding bands!

we had fake rings on the pillow i didnt trust my little cousin to be walking around the RH with the pillow and the real rings on it before the ceremony. we spent to much money on our rings for them to get lost that day

I didn't trust my 6 year old nephew to actually have the rings on his pillow... He just held the pillow and the best man had the rings!!
