My e-ring is the wrong size.......

Ever since I got my ring it was bigger than I would have liked, but I was afraid of saying anything to my FH. Especially being winter and an eternally 'cold' person, I thought it was big because of that.

Well, today I went out to get milk and there was a jeweler next door so I stopped in to explore my options. The lady measure it and it's a 5 not the 4 1/2 he ordered. She also said I was measured wrong and really am a 4! I went home and told FH but it's too late to go back to the jeweler he got it from.

It's a tacori ring and was 'made' to my size. If they make it a whole size smaller it will definitely compromise the ring. I won't be able to see the sides as well. I'm going to fight for them to make me a new ring, but now I'm going to have to probably go without my ring for awhile.

GRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRR. Alot of his family hasn't seen the ring yet and now won't for the holidays.

I'm very upset.

if it cant be sized you can always out the gold balls on the button to allow for it to be made smaller. Jewlers will do it for you

Aww maybe you could wait until after the holidays to get it re-sized then so everyone can see it? I don't know what I would do without my ring I would feel naked without it!!!

oh no!!! I am so sorry...could you do one of those ring cozy things from Claire's? That is so disappointing. I'm sure FH will understand!

I could do all of those.....but this is my ring for the rest of my life and if they made a mistake, they should fix it you know?????

i say resize it, but maybe wait until after the holidays. you'll definitely miss it!! My jeweler at first put the balls inside the ring b/c he said resizing would compromise the setting etc. I tried it on afterwards and it was still too big, plus the balls didn't look attractive at all! So i told him to resize it and it was the best thing i ever did!! goodluck!

Oh man that really stinks, its a whole size smaller,
My ring is 1/4 a size to big.
I ordered a 6 and a half, and they made it 6 and three quarters.

I have yet to get mine resized....its bad enough, i cant imagine if it was a whole size bigger.

Even if you have to without it, you should defin fight to get it resized.

It's got 2 small diamonds on the bottom of the band....those would get lost and the sides would be compromised if I resized......that's why they 'make it to the size'.....I think I may fight for them to make me a new ring in the correct size.....even though it would be giving up my original ring I don't want to spend the rest of my life with a ring that isn't as perfect as it's suppose to be......

I think you should fight. Your FH paid for them to make it a certain way and they didnt. You shouldnt have to compromise your ring for their mistake. JMO

Aww I am sorry. I would definitely get a ring guard for the time being and then go to the jeweler and demand that they do right by you. Good luck!!!

wow thats not right! if they made the wrong size they really should make one thats the correct size. what about getting a guard of somesort?

definitely fight for it! Mine is 1/2 size too big and is driving me nuts, but its my own fault for not going to get it resized.

My ring was designed by Tacori. I actually lost a bunch of weight after we got engaged and has to have the ring resized 1 whole size and it didn't compromise the ring. Try bringing it to another jewler and get another opinion!

Thanks that makes me feel a bit better....but my ring has a design on the side...it kinda bows out...check out my album...you may not see it as perfectly if you resize it.

BTW...I love your ring!!!!!!

My ring is too big (esp when I'm cold) but our jeweler advised against going another 1/2 size smaller because in the warmer months I wouldn't be able to get it on and off. But I needed something, because the stone would always fall to one side. So they put a 'j' bar on it... kind of like a ring guard that adjusts so it fits smoothly over my knuckle and perfectly when it's on my finger. You can't see the j bar at all unless I take the ring off.

Something to consider!
