Wow this is surreal. When I joined LIW, there were 655 days until my wedding. Now there are THREE! What makes this even more surreal is that FH and I met and started dating in 2005, and were engaged only a year later. I was only 20 years old at the time, so we had no immediate plans to marry, but we knew we wanted to be together forever, so we got engaged. Our families didn’t exactly approve, we went through some tough, tough times, but we lasted and grew only stronger through it all. FH lives in Boston and I in NY, and I also lived alone in Florida this past year. We met at school but even then we lived an hour away from each other. We have been waiting FOREVER to finally be together, and now, four years after our engagement, we are finally GETTING MARRIED!! And we are having the wedding of our dreams, thanks to my loving and generous parents.
You girls have been so much fun to chat with, confide in, exchange ideas with, and some of you (especially Christina, depoc1011) have become amazing friends who I cannot picture not having in my life.
For those whose big days have not yet come – I know EVERYONE says this, but it truly does FLY by. So try not to get caught up in the stress, and remember to keep in mind what this day really is.
Tomorrow FH comes down from Boston to spend the night, then Friday is the rehearsal and RD, and FH will be staying at The GCH (along with the majority of our guests). Our town’s constables are coming on Saturday afternoon through Sunday morning to stand guard of the house, then Saturday at 2:30 is our ceremony mass at St Patrick’s RC Church in Bay Shore, with our reception following at 6:00 at The Garden City Hotel, ending at 12:00 midnight. The next morning we will have breakfast with our parents and siblings in our penthouse suite, and then we are headed for GREECE FOR TWELVE NIGHTS!!!!!!! When we come back, we will be staying in my parents’ guest house for about ten days, then moving to DC so I may begin my masters program at Georgetown University. So, that’s pretty much all, folks!!!
Love to all of you, and may you all have perfect weddings. Wish me good weather!!!!

LMAO!!
In all honesty, my parents have a ginormous 3 story house and property with a guest house (total of about 4 acres) right on the water, and sooo many people know we won't be home, and this is a service the constables offer in our town. And like the constable said to my dad, 'Your taxes are our paycheck - this is what we are paid to do and we are happy to do it.' So may as well take advantage.
